Charlie had agreed to drive us. Me and Megan were walking down the street, it was maybe 7 o'clock, the sun was just about to go down. The only condition being; he was currently at his girlfriends house, Sandy. She was this popular blond who wore Nike and Lulu Lemon every day. I still didn't know how I felt about her.
We were walking just past the book store when Megan stopped abruptly. I turned around to see her looking up at the book store, her eyes glazed.
"Megan?" I asked, tugging on her arm.
"You have never thought to mention, you live next to a book store!" She flicked her eyesight to me. I said,
"Um... well, it's a five minute walk-"
"We're going in." She began to walk towards the entrance of the store.
"Wait, what about Charlie?"
"Oh I'm sure he'll find something to do." She said, going up the steps. I followed her into the shop, the little bell sounding our entrance.
Ms. M was stacking books behind the counter. She said,
"Sorry, we are just about to close," she turned around. I smiled,
"Hi Ms. M." Her eyes lit up,
"Alyson, dear, how are you?" She hugged me,
"I'm good, thank you." She pushed out of the hug keeping her hands on my shoulders.
"And who might this be." She said smiling at Megan.
"Hi Ms. M,  it's nice to meet you." She stuck out her hand to shake, but Ms. M just wrapped her in a hug.
"Oh, please, I've known Alyson for years," she said, going back to the book pile. Megan looked over and mouthed, 'Years?' As Ms. M continued on about how and when she opened the shop. Finally, she ended on,
"But that was all so long ago. How's Charlie?" She said, pushing her horn rimmed glasses further up her nose.
"He's great, we were just going to see him now." She smiled even wider,
"Well, don't let me keep you," she waved us to the door,
"Have fun!" Megan and I walked out, waving our goodbyes.
"So, how long have you known me?" Megan said, looking my way.
"Maybe, five years?" I said, stuffing my hands in my pockets.
"And in all that time, you've never thought to mention, oh hey, Megan, a book store just opened next to me. Wanna check it out?" She said, doing a terrible impression of me.
"I don't sound like that. And in my defense, I didn't know you liked reading that much." I said. She scoffed and said,
"Please-" cutting her off I pointed,
"Look, it's Sandy's house." Just like that, the library left out minds, though I wish it hadn't.

I pressed the door bell, glancing over at my brother's Nisan Pathfinder. Sandy came and answered the door. She was in a over sized pink sweater with a purple dog on the chest. Her hair was curled into perfect ringlets. I already didn't like her.
"Are you Charlie's sister?" She said.
"Yes, that would be me." I said, as Charlie appeared from the wall. He wasn't that tall, maybe 5"9 but compared to Sandy's 5"3, he looked like a tree. I pulled Megan's hand and began to drag her to the car. Charlie kissed Sandy before saying goodbye. 5 minutes later, we were on the road, driving to a gay club. Fun.
The car pulled over to the side of the street. The pier was just a block away. The dark lake reflected the silver moon shown through a small white reflection. The club did look like an old ware house, besides the bouncer and the neon signs.
"You... do not belong, wherever here is." Charlie said from the front seat. Megan looked over at me, smiling,
"Ready?" She reached for the door Handel when Charlie clicked the locking button.
"Are you two even old enough to get in there?"
"Yes. And we love you too, now unlock the doors." I said, slipping in some sarcasm.
"Not dressed like that you aren't." Charlie mumbled but he unlocked the car with a synchronized click. Megan pushed open the door. She got out, I started scooting to her seat when Charlie said,
"I'll be within a block, text me when we're ready to leave." He looked back at me through the rear view mirror. Concern laced his blue eyes.
"We'll be careful, don't worry." But it was comforting that he did. He was a pretty great brother.
I got out of the car and joined Megan. She got a lipstick out of her pocket, and began putting it on.
"What are you doing?" I said, not wanting are answer.
"I'm looking older. You want some?"
"Cold soars," Megan rolled her eyes. I continued, "Where did you even read that?" She looked over, her lips were a dark matte red.
"Your assuming that I read it somewhere?"
I rolled my eyes and we began walking towards the building. Two people were talking to the bouncer. I saw them handing over I.D. crap. Megan noticed and whispered,
"I got this." We walked up to the bouncer. He wore a black t-shirt revealing tattooed sleeves on both arms.
"I.D?" He spat at us in a low voice.
"Gladly." Megan handed over two drivers licenses. Neither of which belong to either of us.
"Okay." He said waving us towards the door. He handed back the cards to Megan.
"Um... What was that?" She looked over,
"Here, you check it out for yourself." She handed me one of the cards. It was a basic licence, like my brother's, except there was a picture of me. The age read 23.
"Isn't that illegal? How did you even do this?" Megan laughed,
"You see it on TV so much these days."
We walked into the club, instantly slapped with loud rave music. The beat made my entire body vibrate. Across the room was a group of teenagers, maybe 19. Megan smiled devishly.
"Found 'em."
