Chapter Three
♡Hunter's P.O.V♡
We sat there looking at the menu in silence for a couple minutes. I decided what I was going to have. A garden salad. Yeah, that's right. I eat healthy. Just because I can eat whatever I want, doesn't mean I don't enjoy a tasty garden salad.
"What are you getting, ba- I mean Hunter." Luke says.
"Garden salad." I reply.
"Look at Hunt going all healthy today." Dakota says with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "I'm getting the double bacon cheeseburger. I'm hun-gry."
"Awesome! That's what I'm getting." Beau says.
"Twins!" she yells.
"I'm gonna have a plate of spaghetti." Luke says.
"Ooh yummy." I say.
The waiter comes and takes our orders. He quickly comes back with our meals.
"Oh man. This burger looks so good." Dakota raves.
"It tastes even better." Beau says with a mouthful of his burger in his mouth.
She laughs. I pick up my fork and take a bite of my salad. I look at Luke and he's trying to fit a huge meatball in his mouth. It's hilarious. The meatball obviously won't fit in his mouth but he's still trying. It's actually pretty cute. The next thing I know, Luke is calling my name. I guess I was staring but didn't realize.
"Huh? What?" I say confused.
"Hunter. Are you okay? You zoned out." Luke says.
"Oh, trust me, she's fine." Dakota says.
"I didn't ask how she looked." he says laughing. "But seriously, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good." I say.
Oh my gosh. I'm so glad he didn't realize that I was staring at him. I don't want to scare him off. I really like him. He's the first guy in a long time that has an interest in me that's actually nice.
"Done." Beau and Dakota say in unison then laugh.
"I'm still eating." I say.
"Same here." Luke says.
"Well, how 'bout you two stay and finish and we'll go do something else?" Dakota says.
"Yeah, sure." I say.
"Okay!" she says and hugs me. Beau and her pay the bill then walk away.
Luke and I quickly finish our food and I tip the waiter.
"Thanks babe." he says to me.
Luke turns around so I do too.
"What did you just call her?" Luke asks.
"Babe." he says.
"Babe?" Luke asks.
"Yeah." he replies.
"She's not your damn 'babe.'" Luke says.
"It's not like she's your babe." he says.
"What if she is?" Luke says.
"Yeah right." he says.
"How do you know?" Luke asks.
"Look at you. It's impossible." he says.
"That's cute. You're talking about your chances with me." I say.
"Haha. Very funny." he says.
"I think it is. How 'bout you Luke?" I say.
"Yeah, pretty funny." Luke replies.
"Whatever. You have the same chances." he says.
"I do, do I? What if I said she was my girlfriend?" Luke says walking to the counter.
"Is he your boyfriend?" he asks me.
"As a matter of fact, yes." I say.
"I don't believe you." he says.
"Believe it cunt." Luke says grabbing the tip we gave him and walks back to me.
"Let's go babe." I say just loud enough for the guy to hear and we walk away.
We decided to walk down to the beach and walk along the water.
❀Dakota's P.O.V❀
Beau and I finished our burgers really fast and left Luke and Hunter at the shack. I thought it was so funny how Luke didn't realize that Hunter was staring at him. It was so obvious. Like I said before, I've never seen her like this before. She's really falling for this guy.
Right now, Beau and I are walking along the beach talking.
"Okay, so did you see Hunter? She was totally staring at my brother." Beau says.
"Aha. Yeah. I'm surprised he didn't realize it." I say.
"Well, that's Luke for ya. All muscle, no brain." he says and laughs. "I kid."
"I've never seen Hunter like this before." I say.
"Really? You've never seen her in a bikini and shorts?" he asks.
"That's not what I meant." I say.
"Then what did you mean?" he asks.
"Hunter has never been like this around a guy." I say.
"Really?" he asks.
"Yeah. I mean, we're around guys all the time but she's never like this." I explain.
"What exactly do you mean by 'this'?" he asks.
"Well, you just saw her staring at him and you saw what happened at the restaurant. This morning, she was doodling his name all over her notebook." I explain.
"Oh wow. She must really like him." Beau says.
"Yeah. I'm nothing like that though." I say.
"What do you mean?" he asks.
"Well, you see, she likes him and she acts all goofy 'cause she's trying to hide it. Where as I'm with you and I'm acting normal." I say.
"What do you mean 'I'm with you'?" Beau asks.
"Oh... uh... Did you see how the waiter was checking out Hunter?" I say trying to change the subject.
Wow. I almost just let it slip that I like Beau. I hope he forgets what I said.
"Yeah. That was pretty creepy. I wonder if anything happened after we left." he says.
"Hey look! It's Gabe!" I say.
"Yeah, you're right." Beau says.
"Gabe!" I yell and wave my arms frantically to get his attention.
He runs over to us.
"Hey guys." he says.
"Where's Kendall?" I ask.
"Oh her? Ditched her." he says.
"Why? She seemed nice." I ask.
"Yeah, that's what I thought too." he started. "But that wasn't the case."
"What happened bro?" Beau asks.
"She was like throwing herself onto me. It was weird." he says.
"Then how'd you ditch her?" Beau asks.
"I told her I was going to the bathroom. I went back to check if she was still there but she left. Thank God." he says.
I laugh. Leave it to Gabe to ditch a girl like that. He ditches girls a lot. With good reason though. He's always got girls after him and he seems like a player but he's not. He'll hang out with a girl and if she's too slutty, he ditches. He doesn't like girls like that one bit.
