Chapter Nine

❀Dakota's P.O.V❀

We were sitting in the living room watching a video of Beau and his friends on the subway. It was hilarious. Then, Tyler asked to talk to Hunter and they went to his room. Of course, we all stayed silent to see if we could hear them.

It was quiet at first, but then we heard singing. Then it got quiet again. So, we lost interest and did something else.

"What do you guys wanna do?" Anna asks.

"I don't know." I say.

"Bro! I just got a text saying Liam Johnson is throwing a party!" Gabe says excitedly.

"Well, I don't wanna go out." I say.

"Neither do I." Anna says.

"A party? I'm in." Beau says.

"Okay, so I'm going to the party with Beau. Bye guys." Gabe says and gets up.

"Later mates." Beau says and hugs me.

"Bye boys." Anna and I say in unison then look at each other and laugh.

They laugh at us, then leave. So, now it's just me and Anna. Yay. Note the sarcasm. But who else am I supposed to hang out with? It's almost midnight, the guys just left and Hunter is with Tyler. I guess I'll see what'll happen next. It's not like she's a psycho and she's gonna attack me or anything. Then my thoughts were interrupted by a voice.

"Dakota." Anna says.

"Yeah?" I say.

"I know we've never really gotten along. But I'd like to try and be friends." she says.

"Okay, Anna. Let's try and bond." I say.

"Number one, let's talk about why we think we never really got along." she says.

"Okay, well the truth is, I was always jealous of you." I say.

"Why would you be jealous of me?" she says.

"Well, I always thought you were prettier than me." I say.

"Oh my gosh. No way." she says.

"What?" I ask.

"I always thought you were prettier than me." she says.

"So, pretty much, we didn't get along, because we thought better of each other." I say.

"Aww." she says and hugs me.

"Okay, that's it. Now, you have two best friends. Me and Hunter." I say.

"Aha. Okay, deal." she says.

"Let's watch a movie." I say.

"What do you wanna watch?" she asks.

"Do you have People Under the Stairs?" I ask.

"Yeah, wanna watch it?" she asks.

"Sure." I say.

•••AFTER THE MOVIE•••

"I've watched this like a million times!" Anna says.

"And yet, it's still the funniest scary movie ever!" I say.

We laugh for a little bit then calm down.

"So, what do you wanna do now?" I ask.

"I have no idea." she says.

Suddenly, the door opens and Beau comes walking in.

"I thought you were going to Liam's party, why are you here?" Anna asks.
