The Story Of a lifetime

   I called Adam and asked where he lived so I could talk to him. After he told me I drove there and knocked on his door.
   The first thing I did was slap him. He looked hurt and angry at first then he realized that I was crying. I didn't even know I was crying.
   I hugged him and he sat on the ground. I told him that I knew about him being my long lost twin brother and he wasn't surprised at all.

You~ You knew this whole time but never told me.

Adam~ It was to keep you safe from our dad. He is a violent person. He didn't want a girl because he thought that they were stupid. So he took me and bribed your mom to forget and leave me and him alone.

You~ Where is our father?

Adam~ Passed out on his bed. He is a heavy drinker.

You~ Wow.

Adam~ Yea it's peaceful when he is out. I get some of my studying in and then I leave to go to Alesa or Jason's.

You~ How long did you know?

Adam~ Our dad recognized your mom's last name in your name when I first told him about you.

You~ Were you angry at him?

Adam~ Yeah but I couldn't let him see it our he would beat me.

You~ I need to go Max and my Mom are probably looking for me anyways.

Adam~ Bye.

You~ Bye.

   That's when his dad came down the hallway. He slowly turned his head and smiled. He had yellow stains on his white shirt.

Dirk~ Who is this fine lady in our house?

Adam~ It is my sister.

Dirk~ Wow the bitch finally sees he father.

Adam~ Dad, please go back to bed.

Dirk~ Are you giving me a command!

You~ Shut up!

   My father looked at me with anger. He went into his room and came back out with a gun at his side.

Dirk~ Now you get out of my house right now.

You~ Adam wants me here.

   He walked over to me and put the gun under me chin.
   Adam was scared to death. I could see in his eyes. I gave him a look that said to not attack his father.
   I quickly spit in his face.
   That's when he whipped the gun against my cheek knocking me on the floor cold.
  
Dirk~ Now you best leave or I will shoot.

You~ and what get arrested for attempted murder.

Dirk~ it won't be attempted sweat hart. Now get.

Adam~ Dad leave her alone! I invited her over.

Dirk~ She will leave or I will shoot.

Adam~ Just leave please I don't want you getting hurt.

You~ Would you shoot a pregnant girl?

Dirk~ No, why would you...

You~ Yeah.

Dirk~ Well to me you ain't pregnant.

Adam~ DAD!

Dirk~ Out of my house.

You~ I am not leaving.

   That when Dirk knocked me out cold with the gun.

   I woke up in the hospital. I saw Max there. He was crying hard. I felt a sharp pain in my foot and when I looked down I saw the there was a thick bandage on my foot.

You~ Max? Why are you crying?

Max~ Y/N we found you on the side of a highway on our way to Adams house.

You~ What happened to my foot?

Max~ You were shot.

You~ That bastard really shot me.

   I started to chuckle.

Max~ Who?

You~ My father.

Max~ HE SHOT YOU!

You~ Wait... where is Adam?

Max~ He is I'm the next room over he was found next to you but he was shot in the stomach. You and him almost died a couple of times.

You~ So why we're you crying?

Max~ I don't know how to say this. But you lost one of them.

You~ Wait... One of them died?

   A tear fell from my cheek as I stared down at my bruised stomach. He must have kicked me.
   That's when I blacked out again
