From Better to Worse

For the next few days, Moriko watched Sasuke train with his older brother. She was jealous of him. Those two training with each other reminded her of the brother she no longer has. Though she is happy for Sasuke, he's lucky enough to have a brother who cares about him just as much as Daiki cared about her.

For some reason Sasuke seems to like making small talk with Moriko before class starts. Weather it's just because those two are always the first ones in class and it's just to pass the time or if he genuinely wants to be her friend, she doesn't really know.

But that day was Friday, and Ino decided that the two of them should go shopping. The third even gave Moriko shopping money, happy that she has made a friend. So that night, instead of training and watching Sasuke and his brother train, she went shopping with Ino.

Although Moriko isn't like most of the girls in her class, she can't deny that she is a girl and cares about what she looks like, albeit not as much as every other girl she met seems to. For the rest of the day, the two girls shopped for clothes, shoes and even toiletries. By nightfall, she was exhausted from shopping and filling up her once empty closet with all the clothes she bought.

Moriko woke up early the next day. It was Saturday and they didn't have to go to class. She usually just walk around the village which she planned on doing. She took a shower and dressed in a set of new clothes that Ino insisted for her to buy. She wore a turquoise off-the-shoulders crop top, black skintight knee length shorts and a matching skirt with slits in the side. Moriko also wore her blue shinobi sandals.

She walked in the streets to find most people with smiles in their faces. Everyone was full of emotion. 'I wonder...will I ever be able to show emotion so freely like these people...instead of suppressing them all the time.'

As she walked through a market street near the playground, she saw kids a few years younger than her playing with a ball. But then the ball was thrown too far and landed on the roof of one of the markets.

Moriko quickly used chakra to get up the roof. She took the ball and jumped off the roof, in front of the children. She gave the ball to the closest boy in front of her. Unfortunately for her, the wind started to pick up and blew her hair from her back. It was a busy day and a lot of people are there.

The brunette heard someone gasp. She turned around to see a guy and a girl giving her hateful glares. Those two are chunin. they have seen part of the seal on the exposed part of her back.

The 'news' of another jinjuriki in the village escalated quickly and soon the whole village knew that Moriko is the jinjuriki to one if the tailed beasts. And unlike Naruto's case, the third didn't give them the order to keep the information from the younger generation.

That night, Moriko was kicked out of her apartment by the manager with the excuse of her neighbors complaining about her. Luckily, the third Hokage is a very nice old man. He gave her a place to stay in the Hokage mansion.

As the brunette moved her things to her new room, she felt everyone she passed by giving her hateful glares. They also talked about her as if she can't hear what they were saying. Either that or they didn't care that she heard them.

"Great, another jinjuriki in the village. Like one wasn't enough."

"What was the Hokage thinking, letting that monster into our village."

"The nerve of that, that...beast. leading us all to believe she was just an innocent little girl. how long did she think her charade was gonna last."

Those were only some of the things she heard the villagers say. She placed all her things in the proper places in her room. It didn't take her too long, she didn't have many things. She lied down on her new bed. Her room is a lot nicer than the apartment room she lived in. Her room in the mansion already have books and scrolls for ninjas, she has her own personal bathroom which is bigger and more hygienic, and her bed is queen sized with a really soft mattress and big fluffy pillows.

The third gave her all these luxuries but it doesn't really do much to help the hurt and loneliness she feels. The villagers are now treating her the same way she was treated back at the River Village. Only this time, her brother wasn't there to comfort her.

Moriko curled up in her bed. She wanted to cry. For once, she wanted to let all the negative emotions she'd kept bottled up inside her out. But her face stayed blank, and not a single tear would fall off her eyes.

Moriko sat on her usual seat alone in class. She was staring at the door, waiting for someone to come in. She was hoping that at least some of her classmates would still accept her.

She saw Sasuke come in. But instead of going over to her to talk, he just sat at his seat, not even looking at her direction. Soon almost all her classmates arrived. some gave her hateful glares, frightened glances or just plain ignored her.

When she saw Ino come in, she waited to see her reaction towards her. Moriko really wished that Ino would still be her friend, but when Ino saw her, she turned her head and sat in the only seat available that wasn't next to Moriko's. Once again she was facing the window, glaring at it.
