Carmen and Theo were both sitting in their loft. Ever since Angela died, Carmen was Kennedy's "adopted" child. Kennedy was Angela's best friend and business partner since they were kids, and she left a will, saying that in case anything were to happen to herself, Carmen would be under Kennedy's legal guard. She knew him since she was ten, he had a son named Theodore and he was 17. They had become really great friends, best friends even. Altough Carmen didn't have many friends, she had several loyal men working for her.
The summer was almost over and they were all trying to stay low after the biggest robbery in 2 years. It took her 6 months to organize, plan and get together a group of her best people. The plan now consisted in staying low and acting normal for a few months, and so, like any other normal teenagers, they would have to attend highschool. Carmen and Theo were used to never staying over a year in each school, but now, it was better to act normal. In two days they would start school at Rosemoore Highschool. They were about to start their sophmore year and Kennedy was asking them questions to make sure they wouldn't forget any detalis about their fake persona.
" So, Theo, why are you a year older and in sophmore year?" Kennedy asked him
" I was in a juvenil prision for young deliquents when i was 15, got involved with the wrong people" He said, looking at the ground as he was trying to remove the memorie from his head.
"Nicely done. Carmen, what's the story behind that accent of yours ?" He asked with a smirk, wondering if she'd remember what he had told her a week earlier.
" I moved from the UK when my mother died. I'm living with a friend of hers and his son Theo" she smirked right back at the old man.
After revising a few more topics, they decided to go shopping. Most of Carmen's clothes were not school apropriate or of a typical teenager.
Kennedy dropped them off at the nearby mall and they made their way into a Forever 21 shop. It was crowded with teenage girls with their last-minute-school-starting-shopping-spree. They were squiling and shouting and a very trashy pop song was on. They picked some clothes for Carmen and a jacket for Theo.
" Hey Gorgeus, you goin' to Rosemoore?" a fake-blonde girl aproached Theo and winked at him. She was chewing gum and wearing very short, ripped, shorts. But Carmen guessed by the nerve and ease she said that with, that she was one of the popular girls, and soon enough her posse was right behind her.
" Uhm.. yeah, yes, i am." He answered, looking a tad like a lost puppy. He looked for Carmen's eyes among the girls and when he met them, he felt much more confortable.
" well, see ya tomorow than..I'm Brenda by the way, you?" The fake blonde was so hiting on him..
" Theo, Theo McAllen" He said as he turned his back on her and grabbed Carmen's hoodie. "Wait up Car!"
