Izabella
"I don't have anything to wear!" I complained, opening my closet doors.
I told Roxy and Staci that I wanted to go to the graduation party and they both flipped. Especially Staci. She goes to a new party every weekend. Sometimes to a college party with Sebastian and John. Roxy has joined them countless times as well. I stayed home and studied.
"Calm down," Roxy commanded. "The party's not till Friday. That's three days to find you the perfect outfit, get your hair, nails, and body all fixed up."
"What's wrong with my hair and nails?" I felt insulted, but I comprehended that she didn't intend it in a mean way. I hoped so, anyway.
Staci spoke up. "Did it ever occur to you that you haven't been to a salon in over four years?" My jaw drops to the floor, and Roxy laughed at my expression.
"What Staci is trying to say is that we want you to look perfect on Friday night. Even if it means going to a hair and nail salon," Roxy explained.
"Ok fine," I grumbled, shutting the double doors of my closet. "What are we going to do until then?"
"We're going to work the rest of the day so we can go shopping tomorrow. Then we go to professionals so they can make us look flawless on Friday," Roxi planned. I groaned when she discussed work. Roxy and I served at a restaurant- which the pay was good, but there was a problem. Our boss, Isaac. He was the world's biggest pervert.
Isaac particularly groped me. He touched and forced me to do something sexual with him. Why didn't I quit? The salary was unusual, but I needed it for my college tuition and other necessities. I worked there for over a few months and got enough money to get my car.
The first time he touched me, we just brushed hands. He told me it was an accident, and apologized. And of course, the little innocent, naive me nodded and continued working for him. But it only got worse from there. Around last year, I told Roxy, and I told her not to tell anyone. Now, if my boss and I were ever alone, I knew I that could depend on her.
"Earth to Izabella." I snapped out of my daze and saw a hand waving in front of my face. I looked at Staci and gave her a sorry look.
"Sorry, I guessed I zoned out." I looked at Roxy. "Go to work, go shopping, hit the salon, then party." I gave a fake smile, and I knew Staci fell for it. I looked at Roxy, and I could tell that she knew that I was lying. Roxy saw right through me but thankfully, didn't mention it.
"All right, I'm going to meet up with Sebastian while you two work. We'll meet tomorrow at the mall. How does ten in the morning sound?"
"It sounds great. We'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye girls."
"Bye Staci!" Roxy and I yell in unison.
"All right, what's up?" Roxy asked, as soon as she knew Staci was out of earshot.
"Nothing," I lied.
"It's work, isn't it?"
"Yes," I admitted.
"Come on," Roxy started, standing from the bed. "Maybe it won't be so bad today." She said this every time we go to work together. And somehow, she's always wrong. And every day, I think she's just jinxing me. Or I'm just jinxing myself.
"See? Was that so bad?" Roxy announced as we got back in my car after a long shift.
"How could you say that? Kimberlee saved me from giving Isaac a blowjob!" I yelled and groaned and started the car.
"Praise Kimberlee then!" Roxy shouted, and I rolled my eyes.
"Roxy, I love you, but you annoy the hell out of me," I laughed.
"Drive me home already. I'm tired of working five hours continuously."
"Ok," I agreed and started to back out.
I dropped Roxy off at home, not stopping in to say goodnight to her parents. It was late when I pulled into the driveway. I pushed the key through the keyhole and headed straight to bed without a second thought. I still couldn't believe I graduated. I slept with a smile on my face.
I slowly stirred in my sleep. I opened my eyes even slower. I realized that I had to get up and get ready if I didn't want to be late. I got out of bed to shower but stopped when I noticed a note on my nightstand. I picked it up, and it read it.
The note explained that my parents were going to be away with my grandmother until tomorrow afternoon.
When I got out of the shower, it was a quarter to nine, and I realized I was running late. I put on the clothes I laid out last night which contained my gray crop top, my black shorts, my black vans, and a pair of shades. I threw my hair up in a messy bun. I grabbed my purse with everything I need in it, then raced downstairs to grab a quick breakfast. I clutched a granola bar when I leave my house, locking the front door, and ran to my car.
When I got to the mall, I texted the girls that I was there. They texted me back saying they're in Forever 21. I made my way up to that floor and found them inspecting outfits. I did the same.
Staci got black thigh high boots and a red that dress that contained a deep v-neck cut. The dress was pretty and a pleasant shade of a red. The outfit was gorgeous and went well with her complexion.
Roxy picked out fishnets with black denim shorts and a crop top. She complained that it was too much and told us she was going to wear her booties and her flannel.
Staci and Roxy helped me with my outfit. They picked out a black romper. The top half had a small floral design. The dress touched didn't touch my knees when I tried it on. They also paired the romper with thick black stilettos. They knew all eyes were going to be on me when they picked out that outfit. I had to admit I looked gorgeous, just a maybe a bit too much for someone like me to wear. Especially for a graduation party.
Overall, the trip was very successful and tiring. Tomorrow, we were getting our nails and hair done then going back home to change then off to the party, which I learned was being hosted by Grayson. No doubt the party was going to be at his girlfriend's house. I wasn't jealous. Gray was my childhood best friend after all, and I cared about him, just like he cares about me.
It was later that afternoon when I got a phone call from Isaac. "Hello?" I said, picking it up.
"Bella, we need you down here immediately," I heard through the phone. I could gather the anxiety in Isaac's voice.
"What's wrong?"
"Just get here," he ordered and hung up before I could respond back. I guess I'm going back to work. I texted the Roxy the news before leaving the house once more.
