Chapter 14 ( jack's POV)

I gazed over at her beautiful eyes, tears steaming down her face, this is one of the many situations my dad did not teach me how to deal with. I can't help but blame myself for this, I should of looked after her more. I looked down at my phone, "I should call your mum, tell her what's happened" I said softly, she nodded slowly, fighting through the tears. I stepped out of the room and into the corridor. I will not cry I told myself over and over again in my head.

The phone dialed out softly.

"Hi Karen"

"It's 5am what could you possibly need!" "We are the hospital"

"ohh dear...are you ok"

"no," I said stuttering "it's Mia"

"what's happened?"

I breathed in slowly, the air around me became thicker and more toxic, I can't do this. what do I do? I'm scared. Mia is scared. and now so is her mother. what do I say? I breathed out clearing the air of its horrid fumes. a nurse helped me up and sat me on a green plastic chair. "jack, what's going on?" she asked sounding more scared as the seconds when by, my body went numb. all I could feel was the pain that hit me on the chest the moment Mia woke me. The moment the doctor came to see her. the moment the screams began. Mia needs me now. I need Mia now. my eyes felt heavy. my hair stood on ends. my baby girl is through that door completely alone and I don't even know what to do. "Jack? are you still there?" she asked, I nodded slowly "I'm still here" I said my teeth chattering at the panic that drown my body. "Mia's had a miscarriage... we lost the baby"
