I can only hear the deafening ring echoing through the room as I wake up. The sun's light barges into the room as the wind blows through the window and the A/C off. Mom entered the bedroom without waking me up to tell her goodbye...again.
Long sleeve hoodies and jeans are my favorite clothes to wear, but I decide to wear the traditional black tank top with black and red shorts, running shoes, and my grandfather's necklace handed down to me from the old man himself. It's never leaving my neck. Not till I die.
Going through the hallway, I pass by the pictures of mom and dad before heading to the small little altar I placed with the greatest amount of room to accommodate Grandfather's ashes and I sit on my knees with my hands clasped together, "To the only one that was actually a parental figure for me. Thank you and I love you grandpa."
No sounds echoing through this hallway like before. Now it's the complete opposite, and I still hate it. They never know what a family is supposed to do. Hearing the shoes collide with the hardwood floor. A fresh smell of furniture with shines and reflections everywhere I look. The light red walls mixing greatly with the bone-white ceiling. The door glued and re-glued again looking like a toy that should've been thrown away years ago whenever my parents were home.
The soft breeze of the air, trees flowing softly with it making the crazy community in walking in a little less chaotic than it already is. People who saw the six-a.m. news heard about the first blood that came from one of the players. His name? No one knows, but his username is KillerZone and he is ranked number 10 in the top ten most powerful players in the game. Only thing I heard about him is that he's a brute that doesn't know when to quit.
Aura blinks on through the S.O.U.L machine, "Why's everyone in such a panic?"
"One of the players that was online yesterday murdered an official with his chosen weapon. The Grand Hammer. He'll be a force to be reckoned with that's for certain."
Grand Hammer, huh? That has to be a lot of weight. His weakness would be someone like me, an Assassin class or anyone with greater speed or range.
The light flickers and shows a question mark on the screen, "From what I know in the official rankings he's pretty up there." She appears physically in front of me, a child-like form in size. Her summer dress flowing. She looks up at me with her eyebrows curled upwards too, "What should we do about it, Kazuki? What if we end up going against them?"
Instinctively, I rub the back of my neck. I understand her concern, I just don't know what I'd be able to do. They are powerful. I place my hand on her digital red hair and patting it gently, "Well... I think I'd just place trust in my friends." Looking at her, sighing, "That'll be the best thing to do. Trust my skills and my friends."
"We can do more research once you get to school. Its Sparring Day today, remember?" Aura says.
"Oh right! Can't wait to gain a level boost!" I say.
A figure wearing a dark gray shawl over his head bumps into me and hands over a folded piece of paper. No words leave his smiling grin as he keeps moving ahead and stopping another person in my same school uniform similarly. If you wanna be sketchy that's how you do it alright. I flip open the folded paper and all it shows is a red laughing clown mask. Once we get to the school its thrown away, "Talk about sketchy."
Bells ring as I walk up the concrete steps of this high rise. An aging arch stretching over me with bruises and weathering concrete. Long windows lowering down the walls and stairs as the light shines through the glass. The echoing laughter and chatter of people through the long hallways as I stroke left and right to Section 2. First section consists of regular learning material for non S.O.U.L users.
