Peter
We arrive at the hotel around 1 o'clock and we are shuffled off of the bus. I follow Elizabeth through the lobby and into the elevators along with the rest of our bus.
"I feel like we are on a freaking school field trip. With the buses and shit." Kellan says.
"Language Kellan." Liz say sternly, glancing at Joey.
"I've heard worse." Joey says shrugging.
"Sorry. I'm just tired. That bus was uncomfortable." he whines. The elevator dings and opens, letting us flood out.
I make my way down the hall, focusing on the room numbers. I finally find our and I unlock the door, holding it open for Liz.
"Thanks." she says, walking in. The room is large, including a kitchen, living room, balcony, and two large beds in the bedroom with our suitcases already laying on them.
"Wow." Liz says, looking around.
"Do you mind if I shower?" she asks.
"No. Go right ahead." I tell her. She smiles and walks to her bag, retrieving a container of wipes. She stands in front of the mirror and takes out a wipe. I watch as she removes her makeup and I begin to wonder why she ever put it on. Her makeup only covers the natural beauty of her face. The freckles that are sprinkled on her nose finally come into view.
In that moment, I wanted her in the bluntest way. I wanted her skin, her lips, her arms. i wanted her the way the ocean wants the shore, constantly reaching and running back. I wanted her like the way the rain wants to fall, words want to be read, stories want to be written.
But I know that I cannot have her and that's what truly kills me. I watch as she walks into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Sighing with frustration, I grab my bag and begin to fold my clothes and place them in my side of the dresser. I grab some hangers and hang up some nicer shirts, placing them neatly into the closet. Once my bag is completely empty, I place it under my bed, out of the way.
"Peter." Liz calls out. I stand from my bed and walk to the bathroom.
"Hey, I hate to ask this but I left my clothes out there. Could you bring my something?" she asks.
"Alright. You just need pajamas?" I shout through the door.
"And a bra and underwear." she says.
"Alright." I say, walking toward her bag. I unzip it and smile as her scent wafts from the bag. I dig through her things, looking for what she asked for.
This feels wrong, digging through her stuff. I find a pair of soft satin shorts with a matching button up. I think these are pajamas. I set them aside and look for her undergarments.
I pull out a black lace thong and stare at it. Would it be wrong to bring this to her? I place it back into the suitcase and look for another pair. I can't seem to find her bra or any other pair of panties.
"Hey Liz." I shout, feeling embarrassed.
"Yeah?"
"I can't find where your bra and underwear is." I tell her. I hear the door open and she sticks her head out.
"They're in the small pocket." she says. I look around her suitcase for the small pocket but I can't even seem to find that.
"What small pocket?" I ask.
"Uh...I'll just come out." she says. I look up and see her walking toward me, clutching her towel around her body tightly.
The smell of her body wash surrounds me and clouds my mind. All I can do is inhale the flowery scent and let it drive me insane.
"See?" she asks, closing the suitcase and showing me the small pocket on the front. She opens it and pulls out a black lace bra and a matching pair of panties.
"Here." I manage to squeak out, handing her the pajamas.
"Thanks." she says, taking them from me. She runs back into the bathroom to get dressed and I stand there, staring at her suitcase, trying to calm myself and clear my head.
I walk onto the balcony and breathe in the chilled air. Goosebumps rise on my arms and I rub them away.
"It's chilly out here. I'm not used to it."
I turn around and watch her walk over to stand next to me. Her wet hair lays in its natural wave on her shoulders and I smile when I see the large pair of glasses on her face.
"I like your glasses." I tell her, smiling. She blushes and shakes her head, taking them off.
"I hate wearing them. But I can't exactly go to bed with contacts in." she says.
"Put them back on. I really do like them." I tell her, grabbing the glasses from her hands and placing them on her face. My fingers linger on her cheeks for a moment before I turn back toward the small city.
"Why don't you come inside? It's really late and cold out here." she says, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Alright. I'll be in on just a moment. I just need some air." I tell her. She nods and walks inside, shutting the door behind her.
I look up at the sky, wondering what I did to deserve this. To deserve being tempted by her beauty every day and night, knowing that I am not allowed to have her. It kills me.
I finally feel calm enough to walk back inside. I quietly open the door and see that she is already asleep, her glasses laying on the table beside her bed.
I remove my shoes, pants, and shirt and climb into my own bed. I lay there, facing her, watching her peaceful face as she sleeps and that's when I know that if I were to take up to her face every morning, I wouldn't need anything else.
I close my eyes and finally drift to sleep, my dreams being filled with the face of my love.
