Peter
It has been two weeks since the horse accident and nothing has really changed. Liz is a lot better but she still has her days.
"Peter." she shouts out. I walk into the room she stays in and see bags sitting on the bed. I look at her with a mix of confusion and hurt.
"You're leaving?" I ask.
"Yes. You need to make up with Jamie. You're unhappy without her. And it's time for me to talk to Gavin again."
"I'm not unhappy. And you're getting back with him? He cheated on you." I tell her.
"Well we've been talking on the phone the past few days and I think he is really sorry. He said it was a mistake. I was gone a lot and it was a moment of weakness." she says shrugging.
"I get it. I've had those moments." she says.
"Yeah, but you never acted on them." I tell her. She grabs her bags and begins to walk out.
"Elizabeth, you're still recovering. Don't you think you should stay just a little bit longer? We could talk about Gavin." I tell her. She sets her bags down on the front porch and turns toward me.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Peter. I'm glad we got to spend so much time together." she says. She wraps her arms around my neck and I hesitantly place my hands on her back. After a moment, I close my eyes and tighten my hold on her, trying to put into memory how she feels in my arms.
"Thank you." she whispers.
"I'll miss you Lizzie." I tell her, pulling away reluctantly.
"I'll miss you too Fach."
She kisses my cheek and picks her bags up again. I take them from her hand and walk her down to her taxi. We hug again before she gets into the cab and drives away.
The weeks after she leaves seem to drag by. Her and Gavin got back together and he still treats her like shit. Nothing changed except for me. I'm hung up on a woman who has eyes for another. I grab my journal and begin to write.
I sit on the porch, watching the rain fall. I study it closely as it collides with the pavement and it reminds me of the way I fell for her. Helplessly, hopelessly and in entirety. The whole of myself crashing down and becoming lost in her, while her attention was ever occupied by every other drop of water that floated so lightly down to kiss her skin.
Closing the journal, I set the pen down and grab my phone, opening it.
I scroll through twitter, looking at all of the tweets of fans who are still obsessed with Twilight, even after ten years. I chuckle at a fan who asked "Of all of the girls you have worked with, who was your favorite love interest?"
I think about tweeting her back but decide against it. That would just stir things up.
And without knowing what I was doing, I hit the tweet button.
Oh no. I replied. Why would I do such a thing. I quickly shut off my phone and slid it into my back pocket.
I begin to clean my house for the third time that day out of sheer boredom. My girls come home tomorrow. I just have to make it until then. I glance at my reflection in the window and stop cleaning.
My hand reaches up to my growing facial hair. Has it really been that long since I last shaved? My phone buzzes in my pocket and I pull it out to look at it.
Liz tweeted me. I quickly unlock the phone and look at it. It's a comment on my tweet of her.
"my boo".
I wonder how Gavin would feel if he read this tweet. Before I can do anything else, my phone starts buzzing again. It's my agent. I quickly answer the call.
"Patrick, how are you?" I ask.
"I'm well. Peter, I have great news!" he says happily. This usually means a job.
"Yeah? What's up?" I ask, putting away the cleaning supplies.
"You're never going to believe this. Stephanie Meyer saw a photo of you and Elizabeth on the cover of a magazine and saw how the fans were reacting. She wants to do another Twilight movie." he says. Another one?
"Really? About what? Has she written another book?" I ask, leaning against the counter.
"No. She wants to do a movie of the Cullen's past, so the entire movie would be from Carlisle's point of view." he says. I'm the main character? Wow.
"Wow. Is this a sure thing or just an idea?" I ask.
"If she can get the entire cast to agree then it's a sure thing. She has the budget and the studio behind it already." he says
"Oh. Alright. Do you know if any of the other cast members have confirmed?" I ask.
"I know that Robert Pattinson has. As well as Micheal, Nikki, Kellan, and some new characters. Joey King will be playing young Esme and Alex Pettyfer will be playing Charles Evenson." he says.
"Hm. Has...Elizabeth said anything?" I ask.
"I don't think she has been contacted yet."
"Well I don't want to do it without her. But if she is in then I would love to do it." I tell him. He laughs.
"Great! I will tell Stephanie."
"Alright. Thank you Patrick."
"Goodbye Peter."
I hang up the phone and go to the bathroom. I lather shaving cream onto my face and begin shaving off the facial hair that has grown within the last couple of weeks.
Right as I am about halfway done shaving, the doorbell rings. I walk out of the bathroom and quickly answer it.
"Hey."
I am caught off guard when I see Liz standing at the door. I smile at her and step aside to let her in.
"Hey. What're you doing?" I ask happily.
"Just came to see if you got a call." she says.
"About Twilight?" I ask.
"Yes! Did you tell them yes?" she asks.
"I said I would only do it if Liz Reaser would do it." I told her. She gasps and opens her mouth.
"That's what I said...except about you. Not me." she says laughing.
She pulls me into a hug and I pick her up and spin her around. She pulls away and wipes the shaving cream off of her face.
"Sorry." I say, getting it out of her hair.
"Getting yourself all vampire ready?" she asks, pointing to the shaving cream.
"You know it." I say, winking at her.
"Well I'll leave you to it." she says, walking back toward the door.
"Alright. I'll see you later, miss Platt." I say smiling. She laughs and kisses my cheek.
"Until next time, Doctor Cullen."
