A filler chapter guys, really not a lot happens in this chapter, its basically here to give a little insight in to Nick, and builds the base for Hawaii.

Still its longer than normal so I hope that makes up for the lack of action of any sort :P

Hopefully I'm not too tired after work tomorrow and I can update again.

*************

Nick placed his cell phone down and swung his legs out of the bed; he flicked on the bedside light and stood up.

“Everything alright?”

“Andrea’s son 2 year old son billy climbed out of his cot, they think he’s broken his leg and collarbone. Andrea’s had to stay because their baby Charlotte is sleeping. I’m going to go look after the baby so Andrea can go to the hospital”

“Oh no!” I exclaimed sitting up. Nick pulled his jeans and t-shirt on and grabbed his cell phone.

“Sorry, I really wanted to wake up next to you tomorrow morning, I have a late start and I fully intended on making you breakfast”

“I could come with you Nick, unless that’s weird?” I replied

Nick smiled and nodded “I’d like that, but only if you’re sure?”

I nodded and got out of bed. I walked into the wardrobe and threw off my Pyjamas and pulled on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Nick and I left the apartment and went down to the basement car park.

We walked briskly across to Nick’s car and hopped in.

During the car ride, we didn’t speak. Understandably Nick was quiet and was concentrating on the road. Finally we pulled into the driveway of a large two story modernised Victorian house. The porch light was on, a woman, who I assumed was Andrea sat on the steps head in her hands. She stood as soon as she saw Nick’s car and ran over. Nick hopped out and embraced Andrea, she fell apart in his arms and I struggled to hold in my own emotions. I hadn’t witnessed the emotions of a Mother since I’d been a child myself. It hit me right in my chest like a wrecking ball swinging to destroy a building.

I hopped out of the car and slowly walked around the car until I stood next to Nick.

Andrea composed herself and stood back, he face was puffy and red, and tears in her almond shaped brown eyes still threatened to stream down her cheeks. She was older than Nick, at least 30, her black hair was pulled into a messy ponytail and she wore a t-shirt and sweatpants. Still she was gorgeous.

“You must be Sarah” Andrea exclaimed, I nodded and held my hand out. Andrea bypassed my hand, and pulled me in for a hug. “Nick has told me a lot about you, thank you for coming in to his life” She whispered in to my ear. Dumbfounded I just nodded.

Andrea pulled back and took a deep breath

“Thank you for coming, I’ll be back as soon as I can”

“Take my car” Nick said, handing Andrea the keys

Andrea took the keys and left the house moments later. Nick and I walked up the path

“Have you looked after Andrea’s kids before?” I asked

“Yes, I’m their 'uncle' Nick.” Nick said with a soft chuckle “Does it surprise you that I've babysat??”
