"You've been acting weird all day, is everything alright?" Ginny asked bringing my attention to her.
"I'm fine," I said. "Just tired, that's all!"
"Good."
Luna was staring at some sweets hanging in the window of Honeydukes with her full consentration. I loved going to Honeydukes. The smells seemed even more wonderful everytime I went here. Honeydukes was always packed though. It was infamous, and both young and old loved it. But obviously there were more childen there than adults.
My eyes fell upon a child, maybe six years old, running towards the exit with a chocolate bar in her hand. The sight was absolutely adorable. She was about to take a huge bite when it was ripped out of her hand. The smile I didn't even know I had, was gone. My eyes followed the chocolate bar, and saw no other than Draco Malfoy taking a bit of the bar. He walked past the little girl, her turning around just looking at the chocolate bar she had just lost.
I instantly walked over to her and bent down to her level.
"Hey, you alright?" I asked and she turned to me with teary wet eyes and a slight pout. I could tell she was doing her best not to cry. She shook her head and her pigtails moved as her head turned side to side. "I saw what the awful boy did." I removed my right mitten from my hand and stuck it in my pocket and found three galleons and put them in her hand. "The chocolate's probably not three galleons, but you can keep the change," I smiled at her and she smiled a pretty toothless smile.
"Thank you, miss," she said and her eyes followed me as I stood up straight.
"No problem," I smiled back at her and she ran over to the chocolate bars. Ginny joined my side as you could see her leaving my presence.
"What was that about?" She asked as the three of us exited the store and stared walking towards Three Broomsticks, which was the purpose of this trip to Hogsmeade.
"I saw Malfoy steal her chocolate right out of her hand before she had even had the time to take her first bite. So I gave her three galleons so she could buy a new one."
"Why would Malfoy do that though?" Luna asked and narrowed her eyebrows.
"He's an arse and he wanted a chocolate bar I guess!" I answered simply.
It was a cold day in early October. I was buried in my scarf and I wore my knitted mittens basically 24/7. It was the coldest October I could remember. The cold wind was blowing the orange leaves off the trees, and they were places on the road in front of is leading to Three Broomsticks.
It felt like we walked right into a brick wall of heat when we entered the hot bar, packed with other students from Hogwarts and locals. We quickly found a table with three free seats. I took off my jacket, scarf and mittens and offered to pay for out butterbeers.
"No, but, we can pay you back!" Ginny started.
"I insist. It's my treat," I smiled and turned towards the counter not giving the two of them any more time to protest.
Once I reached the counter I started looking around the bar waiting for Madam Rosmerta to finish whatever she was doing. My eyes landed on Harry, Ron and Hermione sitting in the far back. I made eye contact with Ron and he waved at me. I didn't hesitate to wave back. I continued to look around, and just when I noticed Draco walking in with Grab and Goyle in his heelse, Madam Rosmerta stood in front of me on the othes side of the counter.
"Three butterbeers please," I said and slid the money across the counter.
"Coming right up."
It didn't take long for her to fix them for me. I thanked her and started to walk towards Ginny and Luna with the three butterbeers on a tray. I managed to get my way through the growd, not spilling a drop.
