"Guys, this is Brian." I said nervously as his arm brushed against mine.
"Oh, we know." Lizzy exclaimed and smiled at him. "Don't be shy. Sit down."
"Thanks for letting me sit with you guys. I was getting tired of hanging out with the drug dealers."
"Oh, don't thank us. Thank Johnny. He's the one who wanted you over here."
I glared at Lizzy. If looks could kill, she would have been dead.
Lunch actually went great. Everybody was nice to Brian, while I was practically shaking from excitement. I could barely eat. I hadn't felt this way since Leo.
Lizzy kept looking between me and Brian - Brian and I - and wiggling her eyebrows. I got to learn a lot about him, thanks to my friends who weren't antisocial like me.
He was from Canton, Ohio. He was an only child. He was naturally a brunette. He wanted to go to college for journalism. He was a cat person. He was obsessed with cheesecake. His favorite color was black. And thanks to Aaron being nosy as fuck, I found out that he lived five minutes away from me.
After what seemed like only a few minutes, lunch ended and I was free to go. "Brian." I grabbed his arm when he started to walk away. "I'll call you later." I smiled at him and went off to my next class. I had it bad.

I dialed the number and pressed call. I shouldn't have been so anxious about a phone call, but I was. I had all of my math stuff spread out on the table beside the phone.
"Hello?" A woman's voice said on the other end.
"Hello. Is this the Warner household?"
"Yes."
"May I speak to Brian?"
"Of course. One moment."
A few seconds later I heard the phone being handed over, then his gorgeous voice that I could have listened to all night. "Hi."
"Hey, it's Johnny."
"I know." He chuckled.
"So, uhm, I'm ready to learn."
"Okay. Where should we start?"
"How about the beginning?" The other end was silent. "I'm really dumb."
"No, you're not." He said quietly. "So, the beginning. Sounds like a plan."
After a solid two hours of math, I had given up. I wasn't even listening to what he was saying anymore, just his voice. He had a beautiful voice. I wondered if he could sing.
"Hello? Johnny?"
"Hi."
"I was starting to think that you fell asleep on me." He chuckled.
"No, I wouldn't do that."
"So, how are you feeling about the math?"
Terrible.
"Pretty good."
"Johnny, are you lying to me?"
"Shit. How did you know?"
"I could just tell." He laughed, and it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard.
"Anyways, enough math. Tell me about yourself."
"Oh, I, uh, I'm really nothing special."
"Bullshit."
"Okay, uhm, my middle name is Hugh."
