Alex's POV:

"Hey, so I'll see you tomorrow right?" I asked my new friend Tony. It's my second day at New Chapel High, and I already have a complete group of friends, and all of my classes known by heart. The first day of school for me was pretty good, although, there were a couple of guys who tried to get stupid, but every time they did, Tony kept swooping in and coming to my rescue (that's kinda how we became friends).

Today being my second day was going by pretty fast and easily. I will say one thing's for sure, I'm obviously learning and seeing more today than I did yesterday. For example, here you have your usual groups the jocks, cheerleaders, book club, mathletes, extracurricular activities etc. But, the crowd I haven't seen yet, are the "badboys, and gangs", Not that I want to or anything, it's just that, back in New York, they were pretty much everywhere you look and turn.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Tony say 'hello Alex, are you awake?' "Huh, ya sorry just thinking, um what were you saying?" I asked a little sheepishly, I normally don't just zone out like that. " I said yeah, and Mac, Maddie and I are going out to get a bite after school. Wanna come?" He asked with a nice smile that I gladly returned.

(Time Skip)

I finally made it to my first period class (the only reason it took me so long, was because my locker is all the way on the other side of the school). I made it just in time, and with 5 minutes remaining before the final bell rang.

My first period class is reading, which is perfectly fine with me, because I personally love reading (A/N: it's true, I truly am a huge book worm.), so that's perfectly okay with me. "Alright class, today can be an easy day, where we take roll, read for a little, and then have free time. Or, today can be a sad, boring and hard day, where we take roll, and read for the entire period in utter silence," said the reading teacher Mr. Montgomery. He looked around the room a couple of times asking if anyone had any questions, and when no one had any, he immediately looked down at his computer, and started calling people's names in alphabetical order, and by last names.

Once he finished doing roll, he started his timer for about 10-15 minutes like said, and went straight to reading some newspaper article or something.

I opened the book that the class is supposed to be reading "Pride and Prejudice" and turned to about page 10 before feeling my phone vibrate in my pant pocket. I reached in and saw that it was a new text from my other friend Mac, so I quickly unlocked my phone and saw that the new text said...

TO: Alex

You know, you don't really have to read it, right?

I quickly responded to her, saying...

TO: Mac

Ya I know, but at least make it look believable so we can actually talk ;)

I saw a small smile grow upon her face from the corner of my eye.

We texted each other the entire period we were supposed to be reading, and after what felt like only 5 minutes, the timer of Mr. Montgomary's desk, and he quickly motioned us to talk. Mac and I quickly swung our legs over out desks so we were now sitting across and facing each other. "So, how's school so far?" She asked sounding somewhat interested. "It's alright, I'm learning and seeing a lot more today than I did yesterday that's for sure." I said, and from there started a whole new conversation.
