Kurts POV
"My name is Kurt Hummel. I'm 17 years old. I'm from Lima,Ohio and I am a singer." I said to the camera.
"I've been singing pretty much my entire life. It's just something I've always done and wanted do since forever. Music has been there when no one was." All of that was true. Especially when all the bullying at McKinley but it's not like I will admit that to thousands or even millions of people.
"Who is here with you Kurt?" The interviewer asked.
"My dad,my stepmom carol,my stepbrother Finn and my boyfriend Sebastian."
"How long have you been together?"
"About 1 year now." I said,smiling. Even though it has only been 1 year, it's has been the most amazing and special year of my life.
The interviewer asked me some more questions and then he told me to go sit back down. I nodded and got up from my seat and walked back over to Sebastian. I sat down next to him and sighed.
"You nervous babe?" He asked me,grabbing my hand.
"No not at all. I mean it's not like I'm going to sing in front thousands of people and in front Simon Cowell." I said. Sebastian just laughed,being used to my sarcasm.
"Come here." He said and I laid my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead and said "you will be amazing Kurt. Don't worry your pretty little head." I nodded and I couldn't help but notice how a lot of people were looking at us disgusted and whispering about us.
"You know what I don't get bas?"
"What?"
"There are some people here who are literally dressed as clowns and even weirder than that yet people are judging us..."
"They are just jealous that they aren't getting any." He said and I couldn't help but laugh.
About an hour later they called 12080s to go backstage along with their families. My number was 12085. My family,Sebastian and I got up and went backstage.
Waiting for me to go was the longest probably 30 minutes of my life. The buzzers were so loud and it made everything seem so real. I could get buzzed and not make though. I may be An even bigger loser than I already was. I can't have that.
Finally a worker told me to go next to Nick. I nodded and stood by him and he said "what's your name?"
"K-Kurt Hummel" I said basically trembling in my spot.
"You nervous?"
"J-just a bi-it..." I said with a small laugh.
"There's nothing to be nervous about." He told me as I heard someone get buzzed off. The girl ran off the stag in tears. I DON'T WANT THAT TO BE ME!
"You up man." Nick told me and point me to go.
"Good luck!" Sebastian said and I nodded and walked out to X in the middle of the stage.
"Hi!" Hedi said happily.
"Hello." I said still trembling.
"What's your name?" Simon asked.
"My name is Kurt Hummel."
"And how old are you Kurt?"
"I'm 17." There was a small cheer for the crowd.
"Some of the ladies are taking a liking to you." Howie said causing a bigger cheer.
"Yeah. I'm not sure my boyfriend would like that..." I said,causing a small laugh.
"Oh so you are gay?" Howie asked. It took everything for not to give a sarcastic comment.
"Yeah and my boyfriend is backstage along with my dad and stepmom and stepbrother."
"Tell us about yourself kurt."
"Well um I come from a small town where being different and having a dream that involved leaving,you were immediately outed and that was me. I was bullied extremely heavily because I was gay and want to be this big singer. And to be here and see that I can be exactly what I've always wanted it just means a lot." I got a small cheer from my mini speech.
"Well the stage is yours Kurt. Best of luck!" Howie told me.
" thank you."
I looked over at Sebastian and he nodded. If he had faith in me then maybe I could do this.
The music started and I started to sing
"Share my life. Take me for what I am. Cause I'll never change all my colors for you.
Take my love I'll never ask for too much. Just all that you are. And everything that you do." I looked over at Sebastian as I sang and he was smiling and looking really proud of my which made all of this seem so much better. I wasn't only living my dream. I was making someone I love proud of me.
"I don't really need to look very much further. I don't want to go where you don't follow. I won't hold back again this passion inside. I can't run from myself there's no where to hide." I couldn't believe I was doing this.
"Don't make close one more door. I don't wanna hurt anymore. Stay in my arms if you dare. Or must I imagine you there. Don't walk away from me. I have nothing,nothing ,nothing. If I don't have you." This was it. I had to nail this high note. If I don't,my audition would be over.
"Don't make me close" 'I DID IT!! I HIT THE NOTE OH GOD KEEP GOING KURT' I thought as I keep singing. "one more door. I don't wanna hurt anymore. Stay in my arms if you dare or must imagine you there. Don't walk away from me. No. Don't walk away from me. Don't you dare walk away from me. I have nothing,nothing,nothing. If I don't have,you. You you. If don't have you. Oh oh..." I finished and everyone got to their feet clapping. This was my very first standing ovation. And it felt so good.
"What did you think Mel?" Howie asked.
"That was absolutely amazing!" Mel shouted.
"T-thank you so much.
"No really it was so so good. You are a very talented young man."
"Hedi?" How asked.
"You are 17 right?" I nodded.
"See that is so amazing to me because there are people in who are in their 30s,40s,50s and they can't even sing as well as you. You should feel very proud of yourself. That was a flawless audition.
"Thank you.." I said breathless.
"You know what I think..." Simon said. I stopped breathing then and there.
"I think we have a super star in the building. After I heard that,I started to cry. The tears I've been keeping in were finally falling down my face.
"Why are crying?" Howie asked.
"B-because this means everything to me. To be here and to be told that I'm good at this it just it means so much. " I said almost sobbing. Im so happy.
"Well you sir are so talented. You are the best singer we've had on this show. " that definitely was the best part of my day.
"You have such an amazing story and what you stand for so thank you for sharing that with us." I just could believe that Howie freaking mandel is telling me all this.
"Well we are going to vote. And for me it is an absolute yes!"
"Thanks you." I said feeling almost weightless.
"It's a yes for me as well." Hedi said
"Yes!!" Mel shouted. Gee she shouts a lot.
"You got..." Simon started. I was holding my breath.
"Your fourth yes. Congratulations."
I couldn't believe it. I was so close. I saw Sebastian run out and hugged me. I hugged him back and he said "I'm so proud of you. I love you so much.." I nodded and and said "I love you too."
All the girl judges were awing at us but I could care less what everyone was thinking for the first time in my life.
"This your boyfriend?" Simon asked when we pulled apart.
I nodded and said "yeah"
"What's going on in your mind right now?"
"I'm just...so proud of Kurt. This is his dream so thing he's been wanting for so long and I just could be happier for him. I love you so much." He said and he kissed me right there and then. In front of thousands and thousands of people. That was definitely the highlight of this day.
This is it. This the beginning of a new era for me.
