I stop to try and catch my breathe and felt footsteps coming closer and closer. I drop my duffle bag and instantly pull out my strap.

"I have no problem blowing your fucking brains out."

"We just want to talk, Eric."

His voice trailed off and my vision became blurry. Seconds later I felt light headed and suddenly, everything went black.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

Feels like I was knocked out for days. I woke up, blinked a few times, and realized I'm in a different environment. How the hell did I end up at the hospital is what I want to know.

I'm beginning to have frequent flashbacks of last night but I can only seem to remember the robbery and getting pulled over by a cop.

I do remember running out of breathe because of my bad lungs but that's it.

"Eric? Are you okay? What happened?" a voice asked.

I slowly raise up and it turns out to be Jerry.

"H-how did you find out? And how the hell did I get here?" I muttered. Before he could respond, a nurse walks in.

"Good morning Mr. Wright. How'd you sleep?"

"I slept okay. But I'm just confused. I really want to know how I ended up here and why."

"Well first things first, welcome to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; but I'm sure this isn't your first time here. And according to your medical chart, you had a mini asthma attack and passed out in front of your home in Calabasas."

"Okay. Now how did I get here? Who saved me? Sorry for asking a lot of questions but last night was a blur. I can't seem to remember anything."

"Looks like someone witnessed and called an ambulance immediately. Now if you don't mind, I would like to check your blood pressure and temperature."

She handed me a cup of water before placing
a thermometer in my mouth and wrapping a sphygmomanometer around my arm.

"Okay so according to this bad guy, your temperature is ninety-nine point seven which is okay and your blood pressure is one twenty-two over eighty-eight which is also okay."

"I just want to know what caused his asthma attack," said Jerry "Eric do you remember what you were doing last night that caused you to pass out?"

"I don't know Jerry. I honestly don't know, I can't remember anything. Last night just feels like a blur," I said while shaking my head.

"Well you were running without your inhaler obviously. Now why were you running? Tell me."

I didn't respond so he nudged me.

"Eric."

"What Jerry?" I scoffed.

"Why were you running? I hope you didn't do anything you'd be sorry for."
