Chapter 3 - A Deal

"KY'S POV"

*30 minutes before*

When Kat finally left to take her break, I decided I wanted to get this over and done with.

"Okay Jake look. I don't wanna be here, you don't want to be here, so let's just get straight to the point." I said putting down my coffee.

Damn. I didn't know Besty still had it in her. The woman made the best coffee in the world. Before I leave, I am definitely getting answers on how she makes it.

"Alright, so what is it?" He asked, drawing me out of my thoughts.

"My dad wants you back as his Beta. Our pack isn't as strong as it was with you. Your daughter is welcomed to come along too. We can get her caught up on training-"

Suddenly he cut me off with a growl.

"No. My daughter doesn't even know about those things. She hasn't even shifted. I don't want her knowing about this until it happens. If it even does." He said through gritted teeth.

His eyes were turning black meaning his wolf was trying to surface.

I couldn't help it. I chuckled. He didn't seem to take it that well, seeing as he clenched his fist till his knuckles had turned white.

"You and I both know if she hasn't turned yet, then she will, but until then, if you don't want her to know, she'll be better protected within the pack on our territory. Rogue attacks have been occuring more and more lately. You know they have a past with you-"

He was getting more and more pissed as each word slipped out.

"So it would be best if you just moved back."

Man was he beyond pissed. He looked as if he was about to jump out of his seat, and tear me to shreads.

"You will leave Mary out of this, you ungrateful little bastard."

The only thing seeping out of him was pure anger. I knew I shouldn't have gone there, but it was too late now.

"I'm gonna go take a piss. It'll give you a few minutes to think about the offer." Jake was gripping the table trying to calm his wolf, yeah he's pissed.

With that I stood from the booth, and made my way toward the men's room. As I was getting closer, I heard music playing from a radio. I decided to check it out. When I peeked around the corner, I saw none other than Besty and Katerina dancing. They were belting out the lyrics, and swaying their hips. Man was Katerina sexy.

My wolf let out a purr of happiness.

"Hey buddy. Don't get too excited. Jake would have our heads." I snickered.

He just scoffed at me. I chuckled, and went on to do my business in the restroom.

When I got back to the table, Jake looked more suttle. I took the chance to start up the offer again.

"Now, have you decided if-"

I didn't get to finish, because I was interrupted by people voices.

"You're such a tease kitty-kat."

"Let go of me!"

I turned in my seat just in time to see Katerina get slammed against the wall. Her eyes grew wide as saucers, as she let out one hell of a scream. She started going crazy, throwing punches, kicking, anything to get out of his grip. It was like she wasn't even there. The worse of it all was her screams were starting to crack, and I could hear her sobs.

Jake was out of his seat in no time, with me right behind him. He pick up the guy who had her against the wall, by the collar of his shirt. His wolf was definitely out. He threw his hand back, and when it connected with the human's face, you could hear bones breaking.

The guy was knocked out cold. While Jake went to his daughter who was cradling her knees to her chest crying so hard she started to hiccup, Besty had run out to check on the guy on the floor. I didn't think he deserved to be recieving any help.

I looked back over to Jake who was holding Katerina, while rubbing his hands on her back trying to calm her down. Her tears were still falling, but no sound was coming out.

Jake then looked at me. He looked as if he was pained to do it, but he slowly nodded his head. He was agreeing to come back, with his daughter of course.

Then it hit me.

The fresh smell of liles and citius.

The smell was so sweet but simple. I look around trying to figure out where it was coming from. She must of just walked in. When I looked back at Katerina, she was starting to lift her head. She looked confused as well as sad. When she locked eyes with me, my wolf started jumping for joy.

"Mate. Mate. Mate." He howled in the background.

How didn't I smell her when I came in, or when she had come over?

I was deep in thought, trying to figure out how this could happen,

when she spoke.

If she would have spoken any lower, I wouldn't have heard her. She said the dreaded word I never wanted.

"Mate."
