When the large men awoke with a blasting of cold water from a garden hose they all started to yell. It was still January and with a chilly breeze coming by every few seconds to shut them up. We tied them to a pillar near the steps. They have bruise marks all over their faces and could barely talk. It only took one yell form me to shut them up for good.
“Hey, listen well. I have several questions to ask and they better be answered fast.” I gave them the perfected glare that frightens even the toughest of men. All thanks to the one and only sensei of mine who also taught me the look that made shop keepers give me food on sale.
“Well, what if we don’t answer your questions?” A man on the other side of the pillar asked.
“We beat you up of course. Simple as that,” Sky stated as he punched his fist in to his other palm. He was itching to hit one of them for making me cry.
“That or I can spray you with more water. I still have the hose and it’s still turned on,” I held it up as if to show power. It splashed just in front of their feet. They fidgeted as if the water was made of acid.
“Don’t tell me you’re afraid of water. You’re grown men!” Fai laughed at the men blushing and dropping their heads like children. Fai was back to his other half which is the personality that sky gave off twenty four seven even if he was trying to hide it. They are mirror images of each other, that way I can tell them apart. Fai flipped his dyed bangs back to his golden hair as he stopped laughing. “Wait you really are afraid of water . . . so what happens if you get sprayed with too much water?”
“Does something happen, like changing colors or turning in to something?” Sky questioned by taking the lime light from Fai; who is okay with it because it allows him time to think about what really happens, that is a logical answer.
“Wait, are you really kids?” I peered at their horribly hidden faces. “You are kids your just in disguises and I thought Fai and sky were great at disguises.” I sounded full of myself which is one thing I try not to do in life.
“So what if we are! We still have your book and will not give it back!” One boy hollered with either tears streaming down his face or it was just water from his hair.
“And why not?” I put my hands on my hips and leaned in closer. “What special importance does it have to you?”
“It will save us, our people. Our parents told us to come to the Death God’s Shrine and find the book of Willow’s. Willow shinagami. That’s what we did and we can now figure out how to save our people.” They raised their heads proud and glared at us.
“Well first off Willow is our mother and that would be our property, since she gave it to us when she died,” I gave them the look that parents give all children when they glare, with my blue and brown hair dangling in my eyes. “Second if you haven’t noticed time is standing still and a man is after us. So while we are asking nicely you should hand over the book. Will you hand over the book?” I said with a nod.
“No!” A girl screamed and started a chain reaction with the others saying the same thing.
“Yes,” I heard in a hushed tone from behind. When I turned around I saw a shy little girl shaking behind me.
“Do you know where the book is?” my youngest brother asked. She gave a nod and walked up to Ryuu. He then proceeded to faint.
