The Only One {part 1}

Years into the past.

Zane's POV

I woke up on a hospital bed. It was cold in here, and I had an IV my arm.

Why am I here?

"Someone?"

"Anyone?"

I'm alone...

"Zane?"

Wait...

No I'm not.

"Zane! Your awake! Oh my Irene I was so worried!"

Aph... Thank Irene...

"Hey...."

"Doctor! He's awake!"

Why do I feel so dizzy?

Aph started crying.

"I thought I was going to lose you..."

She smiled.

I love her smile.

She held my hand I I felt a sting.

What happened....

I lifted my arms.

There were bandages on my wrists.

Oh... So I carried on with it...

I guess I have dad's alcohol to thank.

I wouldn't have been able to do it...

But I wanted to...

The doctor rushed in.

"Mr. Ro'Meave, i'm glad you're awake. I'm sure you're aware of your injuries. We were able to stop the bleeding after your friend here found you. If she would've come just two minutes later, you wouldn't be here with us."

There was also a bandage over my right eye.

"What's with this...?"

I was still loopy.

They put me on drugs didn't they!?

"We tried to fix your eye. We know that its been damaged for quite awhile."

"Did you fix it?"

"I'm sorry. We did the best we could. It seems that the doctor in charge of the surgery may have even made it worse."

Worse!?

I ripped the bandage off blinked a few times.

"Everything is blurry...and dark... At least before I could see to a foot in front of me." I growled.

We talked for quite awhile. And all I wanted was to stop hearing the pity coming from this man.

Shut up.

SHUT UP.

I ripped some iv's out of my arm.

I flipped the blanket off and swung my legs over the side of the bed. 

"Zane you have to stay here. I know how much you hate hospitals but they're trying to help."

No Aph... I don't want to be here.

I am leaving.

I definitely am.

I don't need their help.

I'll prove it to them.

My adrenaline was pumping fast.

I felt my heart beating.

I felt my calm breath.

I felt the refreshingly cold floor beneath my feet.

I felt their pity-filled eyes on me... I wanted it to stop.

I stood up, and ran.
