Enid's POV-

"Hi, Ron!" I said excitedly as I walked into his room. "Oh, hi Enid." He said as he kept his head down as he looked at something. I felt butterflies every time I heard him say my name. "So are you –" I started to say. "Hold on." Ron said to me. "Hey, did you see this part yet?" Ron said as he turned to his friend. Sometimes I wish he would pay more attention to me, but I get it, boys are boys. I looked down and started to read the book I picked up, except I couldn't focus. I didn't even know what was getting to me. "Hey Ron," Jessie started to say as she walked into the room. "This is Carl, I was wondering if you could introduce him to everyone." Jessie said as she pushed Carl into the room. I looked up from my book and our eyes met. It was strange, it was like he was looking right at me before I even looked up. "Sure, I'm Ron, this is—" Ron started to say. While Ron was introducing everyone to Carl, I looked down at my book and tried to focus again. "—And this is Enid." Ron said as he looked at me. He looked at me! But he wasn't the only one looking at me, Carl was too. I looked up at Carl and smiled a little when I saw how red his cheeks were. "Hi." I said shyly.

Carl's POV-

"...Hi." I said to her. I felt my heart pounding so fast. She was even cuter up close. I saw her look down and laugh a little. I hope she wasn't laughing at the fact that my face was like a tomato. "Well?" Ron said laughing at me. I couldn't be here anymore. This was too embarrassing, everyone was laughing at me. I took one last look at Enid. She was looking down at her book smiling, it looked like she was trying to hold the laughter in. I walked out of the room without saying anything. I was mortified. My chance with Enid was blown. "Carl, I thought you were going to hang out with –" Jessie started to say as she watched me walk towards the door. "No...I'm fine, I think I'm going to just spend sometime with my group..." I said as I opened the door and walked out. What I really needed was time alone. I didn't like anyone here. They all seemed like jerks who don't get what it's like out there. No one would listen if I tried to tell them anything that happened to me.

Enid's POV-

He was looking at me! Why am I so excited! I can't wipe this smile off my face! "He seems...interesting..." Ron said laughing to his friends. His friends joined in, but I didn't. "What do you think of him, Enid?" Ron asked me. I looked up at him and smiled a little. He was asking me something for once! "Oh...I think he's—" I started to say as I paused myself. I couldn't tell Ron what I really thought. "—Interesting.." I said laughing a little. "That's my girl." Ron said as he flashed me a smile. I looked down and blushed a little.

Ron's POV-

I don't really like Enid all that much. I mean she's pretty, but I just don't like her that much. But one things for sure, that new guy does. I know Enid likes me, I see the looks she gives me, but I just hope she doesn't also like Carl. There's something special about being that boy with all the girls, and right now that's me. If Enid starts liking Carl more. She'll just run to him and forget about me, and I can't let that happen.
