Chapter 9

Hey guys sorry for the super long wait! lots of exams and tons of hard work! I was able to sneak in this chapter! And thank you for being so patient with me, it really means a lot!

Chapter 9

Aria

After wiping the tears off Luke's face I stood up and offered him my hand. He just looked at me puzzled.

"Luke it's a hand. And I want to take you downstairs to show your parents that your okay. I promise i don't bite...much" I said giving him a wink.

He looked unsure about getting out but reluctantly took my hand and we slowly started to walk out the room, Luke squeezing my hand tight.

Peering into the kitchen I saw Luke's parents and Lucas sitting at the dining table all staring in different directions with worried expressions. I looked at Luke and nodded towards the kitchen. He looked at the ground not willing himself to move any farther.

I pulled his chin up so that his eyes would look into mine. I don't know where this sudden courage came from, but I was proud. Proud that I stuck with what my heart was telling me to do.

I smiled at him pleading with my eyes to follow me into the kitchen. It was awkward that we didn't even speak but how our expressions were enough to understand each other.

I didn't give him a chance to respond with that creepy telepathic shit and ran into the kitchen dragging Luke with me. He glared at me but never let go of my hand. It felt great and I felt these little sparks, just like the ones authors wrote in my favorite stories.

So I guess it was true, those sparks...

I never wanted to stop receiving those sparks, they made me super happy. I just hope that Luke feels them too. Then my forever long dream could actually come true before the year is up and we go our separate ways.

Mrs. Clasen walk up to her son an huged him with tears flowing down her eyes, she was just so worried that her son would do something drastic.

I looked at Lucas and reluctantly let go of Luke's hand and nodded, grabbed my things and walked out the house with Lucas.

"How did you get him to walk out of his room?" Lucas asked with curiosity in his eyes.

"I just told him that i missed him and let him talk. I honestly didn't ever think he would listen to me." I answered truthfully.

Lucas touched my shoulder and I looked up to him staring straight into my eyes, "Thank you so much Aria. I was loosing hope but you, you did the almost impossible. Thank you for bringing my best friend out of the shadows."

I smiled and gave him a big huge.

Lucas drove me home in complete silence. It was a peaceful silence, one that understood that tough times were fading away.

I thanked Lucas for the ride and walked inside my suberban home, going straight threwmy front door eager to get some rest. Walking Inside I realized how tired I was and how lucky I was to have such a great family.

 I could smell my mother's cooking from the hallway and I couldn't be more excited to see what she was cooking. From my nose I could smell chicken and broccoli. Maybe pasta? Or rice and beans with plantains? 

Oh the joy I was feeling. I had accomplished great things today.

That night I went to bed smiling for once in a very long time. Kind of like the time I kissed Jimmy Lockwood under the tree when we were 10. He was my first kiss...even though it was a dare. I smiled so big, the first of my friends to be kissed.

The hard part now was did I want to continue falling for a guy that was already broken. I always learned that trying to fix someone wasn't the right way to fall in love. You end up in the friend zone. and if anything, that is not where I want to be with Luke.

Am I even making the right decisions for me anymore?
