The beach had a funny way of connecting people. There were so many individuals. Just one person who would never see another again. It was a lonely place, the beach. But then again, everyone had something in common there too.
There was a girl with hair the color of a bright gem who smoked a cigarette and nursed a broken heart. A boy whose parents would never see him the way he wanted. A man, struggling with the idea of losing a marriage. A lawyer who struggled with the idea of losing a family or a career or even both. A boy and a girl so wrapped up in that thing called love that they were unaware of the danger ahead.
The beach was home to all these souls separated by high mountains and raging rivers. But somehow, it would find a way to tie them all together.
