Justin's P.O.V.
I laughed while listening to Ryan speak he was telling some joke that I wasn't paying that much attention to but I figured better laugh so it looks like your listening. Don't get me wrong me and Ry are close but I'm pretty sure that joke was more to impress Riley then to make me laugh. I than realized that I had been speaking to them for a while forgetting Peyton was still in the water.
I turned my attention to the ocean searching for Pey. It was pretty crowded and my eyes seemed to land on everyone but her. Maybe she already has gotten out of the water.
"Hey guys I'll be right back I have to go find Peyton". I gave them a light smile watching them nod their heads until I made my way into the cold water. From a distance I heard a loud laughing the sun was gleaming in my eyes so I squinted to make out the figure. I then realized it was Cassidy my jaw tightened as my hands clenched up into fists. Man I really wanted to bust this girls face in.
I started to panic once I noticed arms and legs splashing all over the place. And they sure weren't Cassidy's. My walking in the water became swimming as I tried to move my arms as fast as they could go I watched as the body underneath of Cassidy began to go weak.
"PEY I'M COMING DON'T GIVE UP ON ME"! I screamed I can't lose her. it seems like every time are lives begin to work they somehow get ruined. Cassidy looked up at me as she heard my screams. Her eyes began to widen. That's when I knew I had her where I wanted her. She released her grip on Peyton as she tried to swim off in the other direction but I caught her just in time.
"Don't think this is over bitch". I pointed at her while searching the water for Peyton. I had no time to listen to her or watch her run off all I cared about was Peyton. I held my breath as I dived underwater I don't even know why I fucking attempted this the ocean isn't fucking clear. The salt burned my eyes as I tried to feel around. After coming above the water many times Finally my hand hit something as I grabbed it I noticed it was Peyton's leg. I wrapped my arms around her waist pulling her up.
She was out no movement in her whole body. Tears began to swell up in my eyes as I released them they slid together to meet all the other water that was placed on my face. I wiped my fingers gently across her cheek.
"I promise I will fix all of this". I whispered. I threw Peyton over my shoulder as I walked back to shore. People gathered around looking occasionally at her.
"Someone call a ambulance anyone"! I began to panic again. The reason why I didn't do that sooner is because I could still fill a light heartbeat so I knew she was still alive and holding on. My toes hit the sand and I ran to Ryan and Riley who had worried looks on their faces.
"Did anyone listen to me? Or does everyone want her to die"? I placed her on one of the towels as I paced back and forth.
"Yeah bro someone called". Ryan spoke up. I looked over to see Riley sitting close by Peyton rubbing her hair out of her face. My face began to soak up with more tears I pulled my hair looking down at the ground. My knees grew weak and I collided on the ground wrapping myself into a ball.
"Hey they are on their way". Ryan patted me on the back.
"I know I'm just so worried". I said wiping the tears off my face.
"And you have every right to be it shows how much you care for her bro".
"If I just would have stayed with her". I placed my hands over my face clenching my skin. I had enough anger in my body to kill someone. Just wait till I see Cassidy again. Ryan started to speak again but was interrupted by the loud blaring sound of the ambulance. I watched them pull up near us. I stood up rather fast almost losing my balance as I waited for the paramedics to near me. Two grabbed a gurney while the driver came to me.
"Sir what exactly happened"?
"Well my girlfriend was in the ocean and I came back up to shore for a few and when I went back to get her another girl was holding her down trying to drown her, I noticed and went to save her". I cringed reliving what happened not to long ago.
"Okay and do you know who this girl was"?
"Yeah it was a girl named Cassidy just girl drama I guess you can say". I looked over at Ryan who's jaw was practically down to the ground. I must have forgotten to give him that bit of information.
"Joe we need to get moving her breathing is becoming uneven we might not have much time"! A women from the back yelled which I was assuming at the driver. My heart started beating fast.
"Ryan you guys take the car to the hospital while I drive in the back of the ambulance with Peyton". He nodded while I ran over to the ambulance pulling my legs over the back jumping inside. Seeing a small metal bench connected to the wall. The engine came to life as we sped away from the beach. I gripped Peyton's hand watching the paramedic check the small heart monitor near the back from time to time.
Peyton had a air mask attached to her face and many wires hooked up to her stomach. She looked so uncomfortable. What I would do just to see that sweet smile and hear her cute little giggle. If I lose her today I don't know how I'll live with myself I think this is my fault in so many ways. I placed my head gently on her stomach closing my eyes.
"Don't leave me, you can't. I quietly said.
"Don't worry yourself to much...uhhh".
"Justin". I looked up
"Julie, Anyway once we get her under the right things she should be fine". I shook my head as nice as this girl was being it still wouldn't help my broken heart.
"I promi.....". I cut her off.
"Please don't promise me anything". I breathed out slowly.
"And why's that Justin"?
"Because if everything doesn't work out your promise will be broken and it will only hurt me more". I said as a tear slowly slid down my cheek.
