Sam's P.O.V
After a silent car ride to the restaurant, I hop out of the car as quickly as I can to race around to Jess's side of the car. Why am I calling her Jess. She is messing with my mind. She gracefully steps out of the car and pushes a strand of hair behind her ear. Damn it. I was trying to be a gentleman or something by opening the car door but I'm just embarrassing myself.
'I was going to do that,' I smirk down at her. Jess blushes and smiles shyly.
'I-uh-sorry. Uhm, let's go inside?' She says quietly. Is she afraid of me or something? I guess....not. I wrap my strong arm around her waist as I lead her inside, causing her to blush even harder. God damn, her blush is so hot.
'Hey, welcome. Do you have a reservation?' asks a waiter guy a year or so older than me. He has a solid build but slightly shorter than me.
'Yeah man, reservation for Pottorff,' I say impatiently. This guy gets on my nerves. He has barely acknowledged me and is looking at Jess like she is an angel sent down from heaven.
'Right this way,' he smiles at Jess before grabbing two menus and leading us over to a quiet booth in the corner of the restaurant. Jess sits across from me and thanks the waiter for her menu.
'I'm Robert, by the way. I'll be serving you the entire night. If you want anything feel free to ask,' he smiles at Jess and walks away.
'Okay, that's it. I'm going to go get us a new waiter,' I say angrily. Why am I so angry at a guy who I don't even know who is simply smiling at Jess?
'Why,' Jess questions innocently, her big brown eyes staring confusedly into mine.
'He's annoying and he's looking at -' Better not say that. She's completely oblivious to my serious attraction towards her and Robert's never-ending smiling down at her.
'Look, Sam just leave it. He seems fine, I don't know what's wrong,' she reasons, frowning slighly and pouting her lip in thought. 'Robert has been nothing but kind and polite to us so let's give him a chance.' She smiles at me, a genuine and reassuring smile that somehow makes me want to smile back.
'Okay then,' I smile at her. Only then do I realise that I was smirking instead of smiling and Jess is blushing embarrassedly. Why am I messing things up? I am trying to be nice but all I'm doing is embarrassing her. Jess has already been through enough tonight.
'So, do you, uh, wanna play 20 questions or something?' When we are 4 questions into the game and I have discovered that Jess has an older sister, she like One Direction, her middle name is Kate and one of her favourite foods is sesame snaps, Robert comes back.
'What can I get you guys today?' Roberts asks politely, smiling at Jess and giving me a quick glance before giving his full attention to her. Well, that's a start at least.
'Uhm, I'll have the pesto pasta and some water please,' Jess answers. Robert seems surprised and seems embarrassed.
'Can I just, um, warn you that the pesto pasta has carbs...' Robert trails off.
'Yeah, I know it does,' Jess says, looking confused. And your point is, Robert? Robert pulls a shocked face before urgently scribbling down Jess's order on his notepad.
'Sorry, miss, it's just that--'
'Call me Jess,' she smiles warmly at him. Relieves floods his face as he continues
'Sorry, Jess, it's just that most girls that I well, know, uhm, at least, are on diets and stuff and only want the fat and carb free salads and stuff.....' he blushes, looking extremely embarrassed.
'Oh!' Jess's face fills with realisation. 'It's okay, I don't really mind. Those diets are kind of stupid, don't you think?' She laughs and smiles warmly at him.
'Uhm, yes, I really do agree,' he blushes. Wait WWWHAAAAT?
1. Jess tells him to call her 'Jess' but not me? and
2. She is the first girl I've met that doesn't really care much for dieting.
'And for you?' Robert asks, finally recovering from his pathetic embarrassment.
'I'll have the same,' I glare at him and he seems to get the message by rushing away. Jess glances between me and him before continuing with our session of 20 questions.
I love listening to her talk about herself, I want to know every single detail. I love watching as her eyes light up and her smile widens when she talks about the things she loves, and how her eyebrows draw themselves closer to one another and she does this hot pout thing when she talks about something sad. When I make her laugh, I makes me feel like I have a acheived something awesome. Which I have.
Jess's P.O.V
He is so hot. And such a gentleman. And so gullible as well, haha. I can tell he thinks I don't notice Roberts flirtatious, nervous and embarrassed smiles directed my way almost 24/7. I must say though, I really can pull off the 'innocent' act. I act all pure, but deep down I'm real dirty. I would date him and kiss him in a blink if it hadn't been for our past....
