Everyone likes the Vampire Games, it's a ruthless blood thirsty game that involves Vampires pushing their limits to the test. Especially if you're me, after all, my bloodline made them thousands of years ago. It's still all over the news, Richard Hamilton, the pure genius who invented these games. It's a punishment, for what those blood suckers did to us, though, I do admit I'm not sure what they did, but they must have done something pretty nasty to have this sprang at them.

I sit alone in my room, one of the top rooms of the palace. It's fitted with a large television, which I can watch the Vampire Games on. I fiddle my thumbs, tap the walls, and roll around in pure boredom.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Come in!" I groan. My eyes flick to face to door. I immediately straighten up seeing a beautiful young girl enter the room. Her face was pale like a ghost, her lips streaking with red and her hair streaming with golden highlights. I brushed my hand through my hair, making it look neater. "How can I help you?" I say without thinking. I scan down and realise she is wearing a tattered, brown dress, a burnt, cotton apron carefully tied up into a large bow at the back.

She is a servant.

She blushed and bowed her head, trying to conceal her smile. In a jerk, she looked up, brushed her hand on her dress, and bowed. "Sire, do you want any refreshments?"
I looked out my window, hoping she didn't catch me smirk. A sharp jolt blasted from my stomach. Instinct kicked in, I looked at her, hoping my eyes were sparkling. Disapproval tipped on top of me. I'm flirting and falling in love with a servant!? I looked back outside the window. Shame filled me, getting thicker every time a car flew by.

"I'll take that as a no, then," she muttered, trying to conceal it under her breath. I ignored her. "Sire, King John wants to see you," she piped up.
My eyes flicked on her. "Leave," I said bluntly. I knew I wasn't kind hearted, but I was a Prince, no one could argue.
The servant bowed and walked out of the room.
