I lay there in complete thought as the sun set once again. I was thinking too much for my own good, I thought about the families that had to suffer from that fire a few days before. They must be feeling so alone and so traumatised, that they had to hear their family members screamed for their lives as they tried to escape the flame. I knew they heard them, it was to hard not to hear them.

Then I started to think about my own life. I knew it was selfish but there was no one left to disappoint. I knew what had to be done and there was no turning back, I had made my decision. In the blink on an eye, I had pushed myself up from the cold ground of the roof I had been living on. Key word had, I don't think it counts as mine if I'm not alive.

I briskly walked over to the ledge, stepped up till my toes were hanging over the edge and closed my eyes in thought. How do I live life if I have nothing to live for? Maybe I can finally help the world by not being in it. And with those thoughts I let my body fall. I was so tempted to let my wings spring free but instead I pulled in as far as they could go, then waited for it all to end. I waited to fell the hard thud and then nothing but I it never came. I felt the wind continue to blow through my hair and into my face. I was so confused, if I jumped of the building to fall to my death, why wasn't I falling?

I finally decided to open my eyes I took a quick look around me and noticed that I wasn't falling. In fact I wasn't even in the air. I was back on the roof, I was so confused, I had made sure I jumped. Before I could think anymore I finally noticed the feeling of arms being rapped around me. But they weren't my arms.

I quickly spun around and when I noticed who it was I tried to run. Only then did I realised that it was a stupid idea because they never had let go of my waist. My body was pulled back and collided with his body.

I felt him dip his head into the crook of my neck, he inhaled my smell then whispered into my ear...

"Did you miss your dear old papa?"

That rough voice terrified me, I didn't know what to do, I didn't remember where I placed my weapons, I took a quick glance trying to look for them but he grabbed my neck from behind and held my head in place. Then continued to whisper in my ear.

"If you are looking for those petty weapons or yours, don't worry you will get them back, I dropped them over the side of the building, you will just have to go pick them up after our little...chat. Now back to business" he nestled his head further into my neck and continued but with a much louder voice. "How dare you try to finish my deed! How dare you try to kill yourself! How dare you think like that! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HOW DARE YOU NOT LET ME DO IT! I DESERVE TO, IT'S MY JOB! OR HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN MY DEAL I MADE YOU ON THAT NIGHT I KILLED THEM!!" Then he went back to whispering "don't you dare ever do that again, consider this a warning, next time I won't be as nice."

And with that he gave me a quick peak on the cheek and pushed me away. I stood there, too terrified to move, although I knew he had already gone. i knew I was about to faint but before darkness took over me I thought...

I just want to die but the devil won't let me

Hey guys, sorry for always having slow updates but I'm a very slow person, so please don't kill me!

I know all my chapter are short but it's all to keep the suspense. otherwise it wouldn't be a very good book.

****(IMPORTANT PART!!!!!!!!!!)****Btw sorry if I have annoyed by the way she doesn't speak but I should tell you that her and her father (storm) made a deal when she was a few years younger. The deal was that he would let her live if she never speaks again as he absolutely hates her voice because it remind him of his wife/ cora's mother.
