The Bastard in the North

Reeve Snow.

Born a bastard up North, Reeve never knew who his father was, he lived with his mother at a small town, she was a simple merchant, scavenging scraps of Silver and Metal and selling them for a low price, just enough to get them food, water, and shelter.

At the age of 9 he and his mother were walking home when two unnamed mercenaries came out of nowhere and slaughtered his mother before his very eyes. He would not forget how they took out their swords and murder her without second thought, how they chose to let him suffer at the sight of his dead mother rather than ending his misery, he would not forget the look in their eyes as they walked away, laughing.

Reeve was soon living on the street, no shelter, no food, no water. Till a woman, Catelyn, came along, she found him passed out, starving and freezing to death. She took him home, fed him and gave him shelter, she asked him why he was alone and passed out under a bridge, she found out what had happened to his mother, she now knew that it was her responsibility to take care of him. After all, he was a starving child, she couldn't leave him to die.

Catelyn was a smith, one of the best, she taught him the basics but he was nothing special, he could make Iron and Metal swords, shields and even armor but he was never an expert, he just couldn't master it. He then spent the next few years of his life working alongside Catelyn, she became like a mother to him, they worked hard together, and lived together.

Around the age of 17, Reeve found a newborn wolf in the wild while he was out exploring, it was a bright White wolf like no other. He brought it home and asked Catelyn if he could keep her, she said it was dangerous to bring a wild wolf into their home, he argued that the wolf was young, and that he could teach her how to live with them, with no danger. After a long while of arguing, she agreed.

He took good care of the wolf, and at first, she was a bit aggressive towards him, but after a while, she learned to live with him, she became his best friend, she would die for him, and he for her. They had a bond like no other, he named her Scarlett.

At the age of 19, Catelyn fell to a sickness, it was horrible and had no cure, only death. Reeve now that it was only a matter of time before Catelyn would be gone for good, he would once again lose what was a mother to him.

Catelyn was tough, she fought the sickness for a few months but her death was inevitable.

Reeve then continued to use the smithing she taught him to make enough money to keep himself and Scarlett fed.

At the age of 23, a couple of burglars robbed everything Reeve had, he then decided he would join the Night's watch, however, he had doubt that they would take him freely without him knowing how to fight, and so he trained with a man named Joven, learning very quickly how to use a sword and proving himself to be a great warrior, then he was taught hunting, in case he was ever to go North of the wall and need to survive on his own, he was taught how to craft hide and fur armor and how to hunt animals such as rabbits and skin them for pelt, and how to cook the meat so he could eat it, he was also taught that sometimes, when you can't make a fire, you have to eat the meat raw, he spent the next few months eating a piece of raw meat every day or two to get himself used to it.

Now he must seek audience with the lord of the Night's watch, it's his quest, his mission.

However, he felt something.. A change.. It wasn't just him, many others felt it as well.

Winter is coming.
