Well, as you should know im 16, my names cassie osborn (not my real name but in my own little world that is who i am) my real names charlee madison rose osborn, but honestly call me cassie because im no longer charlee 😣

I live in perth western australia, now since the day i was born i was a trouble maker obviously all kids are when there young, but me? Whats so different about me.. Well ive always been a trouble maker aha.
Yep thats right kicking and screaming and crying since i was born the whole way through this short time ive been in this world, i grew up in a small town called yarloop and mind you that got burnt down on january the 7th by a bushfire that just whiped out the whole damn town..
Look it up if you want theres photos and news stories of it (no lies)

Some houses were left standing some wernt, my mom is one of the volunteer fire fighters who had to fight this fire to defend what we call our home town, shes been to many fires over the last 4 to 7 years but nothing like this one, she is one remarkable woman, super woman you could call her.
She had to warn people before the fire came through the day after and i was there when she was warming the town to leave, no one even thought that that fire would come even close to town because youd see a ploom of smoke like that every year but non ever came so close to home, but we were on a get ready to leave now alert, and the town across from us called waroona was getting evacuated by police door knocking and telling people to leave, the police never came to yarloop to door knock and tell us to leave tho which was a bummer.
So the whole town warned eachother because were all locals and everyone knew everyone.
The night after everyone got evacuated from Yarloop i couldn't sleep, nana and pop got evacuated from their house just a short while away.. So of course they had to stay at moms with me my little brothers and little sister, nanas scary as fuck no shit.. So i didnt sleep till about 5am because mom wasnt there and she was out fighting the fire while i just sat there with a fire fighter radio that she left home so we could listen to what was going on.. She was fine as usual, so at 5am i went to bed and woke up at 9am to everyone packing their things, me being me of course the only thing i grabbed was my two little white kittens.. I was in panic mode because i walked outside and there was smoke everywhere and i couldnt see anything, even just that was horrifying!

So mom drove my little brothers sister an I to the town over from us called Harvey to our older sisters house, while pop and Nana went to the Australind evacuation centre, then mom went on shift to fight that fire.. Watching from out the front of my sisters house the ploom of smoke come over us and the water bombers landing on the oval to refill, the sky was black and had some orange and blue tinges in it, I know im detailing alot but this is what I remember with my heart not my head.
About 30-50 minutes later we got evacuated from Harvey and for my sisters and brothers they went to grans house in Busselton while I went to my exs house in Bunbury as I felt safe there, I guess (I kinda didn't feel safe at all.)
I felt sick in the stomach knowing it was so close to home but little did I believe it would burn down most of the town...

I called mom to see if she was okay, straight to message bank.. That always got me worried like you don't know what its like to feel so scared that your parent might be dead because of a fire, it killed but eventually after a few hours or a whole day she would reply with a text or call me, thank God!

About 3 days later we found out that the town was gone, we lost 2 of our local people.. One Malcolm Taylor in his 73, told his friends he was having a beer as he watched his neighbours pack and leave Yarloop on Thursday as flames raced towards Yarloop and also told his friends he could not be a king without his castle, The other 77, leslie taylor, (us locals called him squizzy) he couldn't make it out in time before the fire reached his front porch.. 😕
Alot of people through the Fire decided to stay and defend their homes but as the Fire ripped through the town they got moved to the Yarloop oval, again my mom helping evacuat them, roughly there were over 100-300 people on that oval for about 3 nights.. Most without food or water 😞

My mother's house was burnt down, on teesdale Street thats in the video at the top.. Most of my old friends houses are gone too, what eats me up inside the most about this is there was no warning by police and the government did nothing about it and tried to back themselves up for making the worst mistake ever, fucking Cunts

So while I was at my exs house I watched the smoke cloud come over, it created a volcanic storm that is usually produced by an exploding volcano, that was a first for many to experience including myself, time passed by about a week later the town was blocked off from the public as there was alot of asbestos in the area because most of the town was made out of wood, I just wanted to go home because I didn't believe it was gone. Eventually I got a lift back to Harvey and was planning to get a lift to Yarloop to see for myself but my mom ended up coming to get me, she took me through the place I called home and it was gone, I couldn't believe the place I lived in since I was almost one year old was burnt
I mean when I was 13-15 id say "I wish this place would burn down" but I never actually meant it, it's fucked having everything you know taken from you in just a few short days..

Sometimes it's the experience you learn from tho...~ think twice before saying something you may regret later on
