R O S A

"Maybe we met before. You know, drunk, out at a bar somewhere." Michael pestered me as I ate lunch, "I would've remembered." I said picking at my food.

"Is that a compliment?" He smiled as looked up at him, giving him a deathly glare.

"No." I said simply and he tried to keep from smiling.

"Stop, I'm eating." I said because he was trying to make me laugh as we both sat on my bottom bunk, I was eating my lunch, because I hated going to the cafeteria.

"So Michael," "So, Rosa." He smirked, in this silly, teasing mood.

"Are you still planning to get out?" I asked as I pushed my tray away from me, to the corner of my bed before I scooted back, leaning on the wall beside Michael.

He nodded, humming slightly.

"But this time I really want you to come too," He placed his hand on mine and I shook my head, "I can't have that false hope again.. You need to get your brother out, and if I ever get out, maybe I'll hold you up on that date promise." I looked over at him, smiling softly.

"Rosa, I'm not letting you go," "You need to focus on your big brother, who could be put to death in a week, so you need to get him out." I put my hand on Michael's chest.

I took it off quickly, catching myself.

He grabbed my hand mid air, he interlocked our fingers before he started leaning towards me.

"Michael," I whispered, "You still have time, and I'm not the one who needs saving." I whispered with our lips in kissing distance.

"We all need a little saving every once in awhile." He whispered with a small smirk before he closed the gap.

As we broke apart I looked up at him, something seemed to be stirring within me.

"I have community service in a few minutes." I cleared my throat, "I'll see you later." I sighed as I scooted towards the edge of my bed, I put on my shoes and stood from my bed.

"Rosa," Michael stopped before I left, he stood up and I turned towards him.

"Tonight, I want to show you something special to me." He promised.

I left my cell and all I could think about was Michael's blue eyes as he told me he wasn't going to let me go.

I knew I was falling too hard, too quickly, but it's not like I could help it.

I sighed shakily as one of the newer inmates kept threatening me, we were in the kitchen, helping out with dinner.

I went into the pantry to grab a spice for some soup I was making, I heard footsteps follow me in and I looked at all the different kind of flavors.

I looked over to see the inmate that kept telling me to watch my back, I nervously smiled before looking back at the bottle I held.

I heard the pantry door close and then the lock sounded.

I tried to keep my cool as I looked to see the large inmate walking over towards me.
