R O S A
"Is that Abruzzi?" I spoke in disbelief as I saw the man who was rushed to the hospital in Chicago just a few weeks ago.
"Yep. He's back. And holier than ever." Michael joked as we sat a yard away from each other in the chapel, one of the few places we could see and talk to each other.
"What do you mean?" "He said he's been saved by Jesus, claiming he's a different man." "But you think he's lying?" I whispered and be hummed.
"He will never forgive T-Bag for trying to kill him." "I can't blame him." I sighed.
"It's going to happen soon, and Tweener is on board too." Michael whispered but before I could testify, I was called out of the chapel.
-
"You know what? I think you're one of my closest friends here." I smiled at Terry, because I saw him every few days at least.
"Same to you, compadre." He said as he finished my wrap once more, he had to replace a few stitches because I've been moving too much apparently.
"But I'll be gone for the next few days, vacation with the family." He said and I frowned, I wasn't sure if I'd ever see him after this visit, since Michael told me we had to leave sooner rather than later.
As he walked towards my door, he stopped, "You're one of my closest friends, too." He smiled.
"Hey, wait." I smirked, "What's your first name?"
He chuckled, "Samson." He smiled.
"Well, thank you Doctor Samson Terry, you've saved me in more ways than you know." I spoke honestly and he slowly nodded, "See you next week." He said and I nodded.
I felt bad because he never really knew how much sanity he saved in me as well.
As evening turned to night, a storm rolled in, loud thunder shook my bones.
After count, only one hour after eight, I heard loud clanking, but it was pitch black in my room, since it was beddy-bye.
I cuddled into my scratchy blankets because storms scared me.
I heard loud shouting after a loud thunder shook the building, lightening probably crashing close by.
It sounded like inmates shouting but I couldn't understand any of it.
I sat up quickly as I realized that those inmates were outside of their cells, they ran past my cell, not even caring about me, they were just happy to be free.
After a herd of them left, I looked through my window at the dimly lit rec area and hallways, I saw a few unconscious CO's tied to anything they could be.
I grabbed my handle as I held my breath, it slid open with ease.
My heart rate jumped as I looked left and right to see no one, I stepped out of the hall in just sweats and a sweater, I was even barefoot.
I breathed shallowly as I wondered if I should go to Michael or stay in my safe cell.
My urge to see Michael out reached my fear, by miles.
