Luke - he's sick and no one believes him

They'd had a hard few days filled with interviews, meet and greets and the occasional concert - and it's effects where showing. All four boys were extremely tired and grumpy from lack of sleep. Luke especially wasn't feeling so great. He'd woken up the previous day with a tickle in his throat and a minor headache, but he'd brushed it off as just some side effects of the exhaustion riddling his bones. This morning however, it had hit full force. His head was pounding and his throat felt dry, like sandpaper. Every time he swallowed, it felt as though a nail was being dragged down his esophagus. His body was sore, his neck being especially stiff. When he rose out his bunk on the tour bus, his vision fogged and his head spun. Stumbling, he shot his arm out, trying to grab ahold of something to prevent himself from falling. Fortunately, he found something. Unfortunately, that something happened to be Michael.

Normally, it would be laughed at and quickly forgotten but after several grueling days of continuous promo, nobody was particularly cheery. Michael in particular had been hit pretty hard. He wasn't the best suited character to constant socializing and although he kept a smile on for the fans, the boys often felt the brunt of his tiredness and subsequent moods. Today was no exception. As soon as Luke's hand touched Michael's chest, he was thrown backwards against the other bunks.
"Geroff Luke! I don't have time for you right now!" He rumbled. Then he frowned and added, "You'd better hurry up we have to leave in like 10 minutes. Didn't you hear bus call?"

Luke hadn't heard bus call. He'd been too busy trying to keep sane with the constant thumping his head seemed intent on continuing. Cursing, he stumbled to the bathroom to change. The realization he wouldn't be able to have a shower to try and wash away his nausea just made him feel even worse.

Sitting in the car on the way to
interview number god knows what, all Luke could focus on was looking straight ahead. He'd heard someone say once that looking straight ahead at a fixed point could help relieve nausea. He decided he was going to find this person and call bullshit - right after his stomach stopped performing gymnastics inside of him.

He was going to tell the boys that he wasn't feeling well when he met them outside at the car, but by that point he had already made them 10 minutes late and they were long past the listen to him whine phase. So he didn't. And now, he was stuck amongst 3 very overworked and exhausted boys who also happened to be annoyed at him. Lovely.

The first interview was at a radio station. He'd put on his headphones and then continued to speak twice during the whole interview - to utter his name and to wince and complain to Michael when he yelled suddenly, not helping his splitting headache. The boys weren't very happy with him after that, yelling at him afterwards to put more effort in and to stop acting like  an "overprivileged ass." The second interview was with an overly cheery woman in a stuffy room. By this point Luke could barely hold back the tears. His head was agony. Every blink, every movement and every noise sent shockwaves all around his body. He felt as though he would throw up at any moment. And his throat. His throat burned as though he were gargling with acid. He'd gotten ahold of someone behind the scenes and asked for some medicine but it had little effect.

He tried to be more attentive during the second interview, he really did, but the room was stuffy and his symptoms were only worsening. He felt his nausea rising, and at a quick interlude he had to rush off, probably quite rudely, to throw up. It was disgusting. He felt disgusting. On the drive back to the hotel they'd be staying at that night, the boys yelled at him again.

"What's wrong with you today Luke!?" Grumbled Calum. "Why are you being such a dick?"

"I don't feel well. I'm exhausted and I feel so sick." Luke had mumbled back, quite pathetically.
