I let Ica drag me away, still reeling with what I'd seen. Obviously, I knew she had a crush on him-who didn't? Most girls (and even some guys) had a crush on him; Ica was the only girl I knew of who didn't like him; she didn't like anyone, really, except, and I quote "this really hot guy I saw at a Witches Convention once," two years ago.
"Oh man oh man oh man," I breathed.
"Pull it together, Ger," she said in my mind. "I gotta show you something."
"Fine," I grumbled.
We slipped into the palace infirmary where I saw a beaker of shimmering purple liquid. "Is that...?" I asked.
"Yeah. It's the potion 'used to kill the King'. It is one of mine though, I'll give you that." She took a small amount and put it in a petri dish. "Now look what happens when I do...this." Ica poured a light sprinkling of a metallic blue dust into the petri dish.
I gasped. What sort of party trick was this?
