 °• Chapter One• °

"I'm so excited for the party! It's going to be massive!"

I sat in on the counter in my flat's kitchen, trying to finish my biology homework. But it was very hard to concentrate when you have a crazy maniac talking about some stupid party and how 'massive' it's going to be. Nicole has been squealing for the past half hour about this party she's going to tonight, and it's driving me crazy.

"NICOLE."

"Shhh!" She waved her hand at me. "Oh my god! I know!"

I sighed in exasperation. I tapped my pencil against the counter top, knowing that It would annoy Nicole. "Hold on." She held a hand over the phone and glared at me. "Sophia! Can you NOT?"

"Can you NOT talk in here? I'm trying to do my homework." I said, giving her a look.

She ignored me and continued her conversation. It was times like these I wish she didn't live next door. Don't get me wrong, she's cool, and we're pretty close, but that girl can talk all day and I was more of a quiet person. We're so different in so many ways, she likes to party, while I like to stay home and study, she wears tons of makeup, I only wear mascara, She has millions of friends, and well, I only have her.

"What? No! How are we suppused to get there then?" Silence. "No, I don't have a car, remember? Wait- I have an idea, I'll call you back." She hung up the phone and sat across from me. She smirked, usually when she smirks like that she wants something.

"What do you want?" I asked briefly, not looking up from the biology book. She smiled sweetly trying to use her charm that seemed to work on guys.

"Funny you ask, But Olivia's friend bailed on driving us to the party so we kinda or sorta or need, yeah most defenetly need a ride."

"No." I said, setting down the pencil next to the biology book I was reading.

"Please! I wouldn't ask you to drive us if you'd let me burrow your car, but I know you don't like anyone driving it so please, as your bestfriend, I'm asking you nicely to drive us and then pick us up. That's all, I'll never ask you for anything ever again." She practically begged.

"I don't know, I have homework." I replied, picking up the pencil.

"If you want you can come with us..?" I stared at her, trying to decide. "No, I actually have things to do." She looked at me hurt. And there it goes, I know that somehow I'm going to end up driving her, and somehow, I don't know, in that party.

"Please?! I'll clean your house for a month! I'll do anything! You can come with us.." She pleaded. I narrowed my eyes at her. Knowing her, even if I do drive her, she's not going to clean my house, at all.

"Fine." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Oh my god! Thank you!" She sighed in relief. "We leave at 8:00 so get dressed."

"What? But-"

"I gotta call Olivia!" She said, interrupting me. She ran to the kitchen sink where her phone was. "You do that." I replied, going back to the biology book.

We had been driving in the car for almost an hour when we finally neared the entrance of the big house. I parked the car, shutting it down.

We followed the street light that led to the flat where the party was going to bet at. After a good ten minutes of walking we finally made it to the the front entrance. As I peered around, music played and everyone cheered and laughed.

Aimlessly I began to worry.

I knew I probably should leave but Nicole pushed me towards the entrance of the house that everyone went in and out. The place was crowded and it became humid as soon as I walked into the house. Sweat and alcohol was lingering in the air and I cringed.

What was I even doing here?

I don't know anyone and I shouldn't even be here in the first place.
