Courtney sighed, “He looks so good... doesn't he look good?” Courtney said it as though she was actually in love with him. Because of the Courtney and Gwen love-fest, I was sitting in the chair behind Gwen. Heather was in front of me looking annoyed.
“He looks great. I'm so happy... for you! Happy for you!” Gwen said, almost blowing it.
“Ugh, I wish they would stop,” Heather said loud enough for only me to hear. “It’s so obvious they're both in love with him.”
I shot a look at her. There was no way she knew. I mean, how could she? She wasn’t awake. Or was she? No, Heather would have said something if she was. Perhaps she was just joking around. I softened my glare. “Oh please, it’s more like the other way around,” I grumbled.
“What? That I like Duncan?” Heather wasn’t as defensive as she was when she talked about liking Alejandro.
“No, that they both don’t like him.” I rolled my eyes.
Heather scoffed. “Please, Courtney obviously loves him.”
“Don't get me wrong. He's not perfect. I made a little list of things that need to change. But once I change these forty-seven things about him, he will be perfect!” Courtney pulled out a list.
I raised an eyebrow. “Oh yeah, head over heals in love.” Heather snickered a bit.
“Wouldn’t it be crazy if it was me, you, and Duncan in the final three?” Courtney said. Don’t I feel loved.
“That would be crazy,” Gwen said.
“Just you, me, and MY BOYFRIEND. What do you think Chris would do to turn us all against each other?” In that instant, I thought she knew. But Gwen wasn’t dead and/or sued yet.
“Oh…Let’s not guess. I’d rather it be a surprise.”
I pressed my head between the cracks of the chairs. “Smooth,” I whispered in her ear. She hit/swatted me away, and then put a complete fake smile on. I went to the confessional./ “Obviously, Gwen has NEVER kept a secret before… either that, or she’s really bad at trying to act innocent.”/
Gwen’s phone started to play a song (something metal) and she gasped and rang out of the room. “What was that about?” Heather asked.
I shrugged pretending to not know. “Who knows? She probably just got a text from her brother or something and needs to call him,” I said. I didn’t think it was her brother. Who was it, and why did she run away after looking at her phone?
Maybe it was an urgent call from her mom or something? No. That wasn’t her mom’s ringtone. It was Duncan’s. Duncan was in economy class, without Gwen. It could have been he wanted to see her. No. She wouldn’t have ran out that quickly and gasped if that was the case. It had to have been a text because she paused before she gasped and ran. So, a text Duncan sent that made her gasp and run away upset. Duncan was in economy class, I repeated in my mind. So, that meant that he was back there with other members of team Chris… Like Tyler.
Oh no! I immediately knew why. Tyler either was about to blow it, or already blew it. I looked over at Courtney who was updating her list. Her phone hasn’t rung yet, so Tyler has yet to blow it, thank God!
“Where do you think we’re going next?” Heather snapped me out of detective mode.
I shrugged. “Who knows? I can’t really see anything.” I tried to look out the window. “Where you think?”
“I don’t know!”
"All contestants to the dining area," Chris announced.
"Lets go find out," I said getting out of my seat.
