"Ree you don't think?"Adam said eyes still glued onto Benjamin and Mr.Frank.
"No it cant be,I mean he moved all the way to New York because his dad got a good job there.He couldn't possibly just get fired.He was In fact,a hard worker."I said still in shock.
"But maybe-"Adam was cut of by Mr.Frank
"You!Adam right?Yeah move next to Cassie."Mr.Frank said with a smile
"But-"Adam was cut off again
"No 'buts' in this class,"Mr.Frank said"I was going to put Ben there but then I realized that you and Miss.Jennings will be very talkative so move along so Mr.Ackerman can sit"
Adam gave me a look that read 'be brave'.I love how Adam cared about me so much.
Adam quickly gathered his stuff and took his seat.Soon Benjamin took the seat and just stared at me.I quickly looked down to act like I didn't notice him.I couldn't take this awkwardness any longer.
"Are you just going stare at me like a creep?"
****BENS POV****
"Are you just going to stare at me like a creep?"The familiar face said
I had realized what I had been doing and quickly looked away.Well you cant blame me.She looked to familiar it drove me crazy.
"Oh Iam sorry uhh Hi Iam Benjamin Ackerman"I wanted to metally slap myself.Like she already didn't know that.Mr.Frank had just announced that less than 5 minutes ago.Iam such an idot.It looked like she agreed because right after I had just said that she giggled.
"Yeah I kinda know that already,but nice to meet you Benjamin"She said with a smile"Iam Aubrey Jennings but you can call me Bree"
Aubrey.Jennings.Aubrey Jennings.Aubrey Jennings.Sounds so familiar.Hmmm.Its hard for me to remember things mostly my childhood.A while ago I had gotten into a car crash.I couldn't remember anything except my parents.My father thought it was a good idea to bring me back to California to bring back some childhood memories so he quit his job to come here.He had said I had a best friend named Aubrey but he never had the chance to tell me her last name or anything about her.Whoever she was,she truly was beautiful.
"Umm so Bree"I said with a smile"Whos the guy that was sitting next to you"
Her smile dropped.
"Uhhh him?Hes my....."She took a glance at him and finally spoke"Bestfriend"
So let me get this straight.If this girl,sitting right infront of me is my 'long lost bestfriend' ,as people call it,then why is she calling someone else her best friend?Arent bestfriends supposed to stay bestfriends no matter what?Someone is being a trader!
Just as I opened my mouth to speak the bell rang.
--4 periods later--
"Man Iam starving!"Adam said rubbing his belly.Adam,Bree and I all have the same classes.Cool!
After we got our food,we all sat down at the same table,for a minute.Some popular kids had asked me to sit at their table.Bree and Adam told me Id never hear the end of it if I don't go.Before they had practically pushed me away,I had noticed something.Something that just made my memory click.
Bree and Adam had picked a table for us to sit at.Bree and Adam sat next to eachother and I sat across from them.
"So far all four teachers are retarted"Adam said with a sigh"This is gonna be a long year"
"Their all retarted because you act stupid in their class"Bree said with a chuckle that just immediately put a smile on my face.She then started playing with a necklace that came down to her chest,Then that's when my memory clicked.
There was this bracelet on her rist.One that had a vintage string and a yellow smiley face right in the middle.
"Whats that?"I couldn't help but ask
"Uhhh a bracelet?"Adam said in confusion
"Obviously he knew that I think he ment when did I get it or who gave it to me,Right?"Bree said with a smile
"Uhh yeah sure"I said
"An old friend gave it to me about 9 years ago"She said taking a look at the bracelet
That's it!That bracelet!I remember I gave it to a best friend of mine!Could it be Aubree?My father did say I had a best friend here named Aubree.Is it this Aubree?Ofcourse it's this Aubree you idiot!What are the odds that you have a best friend named Aubree, she still lives in her hometown, still goes to her hometowns school,she has the same exact bracelet that you gave your best friend huh?
Should I tell her Iam back?
