I can hear my heart racing
I hear the beat uneven
Shock surges through my body
Sweat coming down my brow
My feet pound into the ground
I gasp for air
Unknown voices in my ear
I see shadows everywhere
I scream out in terroir
As I fall
I awake
I am safe
With my dog at my side
He comforts me
I curl up with him
And I fall back to sleep
