A tranquillised thirteen-year-old girl is placed into the chair. The blade is attached to her neck brace. The remote is picked up off the floor.
Her head comes off with one, powerful swipe of the serrated blade.
A baby is cut from her stomach. The chef picks up the girl's lifeless body to take her down to the basement as her baby begins to cry at the sight of her headless mother. Matron Carter picks up Marthos's head and pulls a tooth loose, popping it into her pocket. That's great for my collection. She then takes the head to the bins which are not really bins at all: all the heads ever amputated are there, and they will remain to be there until the cult is disbanded. Even then they will continue to decay for centuries.
T is placed under a warm light, she likes it. It soothes her aching heart. Soon, she is sound asleep with no clue what she has gotten herself into; just by being born.
What she doesn't know is how much her mother prayed her child would find it.
And she also didn't know that she would be the first girl to defy the rules of the leader.
