It had been three days since my run in with Sean; I had told Deana, after all she was my closest friend, and she had demanded I march into his gym and finish what we’d started. “You would say that D, you’re the sex kitten with the fierce attitude; I’m just – well I’m just me.”

I stubbed out cigarette out into the glass ash tray on the balcony of our apartment we shared.

“Don’t be ridiculous Winter, you’re sexy, fun and any man would be lucky to have you!”

I sighed and smiled at my wonderful friend, “In all honesty Deana, I’m terrified of walking in there. What if he isn’t interested anymore? Wouldn’t he have come looking for me by now?” I slipped the shawl off my shoulders and draped it on Deana; I climbed back through the window and made my way to the kitchen, “I’d feel like an idiot!” I called back to her as I poured some orange juice into a glass.

A sudden knock at the door cut our conversation short; I looked over at Deana and furrowed my brow, we weren’t expecting visitors at 7pm in the evening. I walked briskly to the door and looked through the spy hole. Holy fuck it was Sean. “It’s Sean!” I hissed so quietly that Deana barley heard.

I figured she had heard though when she grinned ear to ear, “Answer it!” she hissed back, jumping up and down on the spot like an excited puppy.

I sucked in a deep breath and pulled the door open; I was greeted by a pair of dazzling blues looking at me with intensity. “Winter,” he said in that husky accent of his.

I could only swallow air and shakily answer, “Sean.” He seemed to click into reality as his eyes flicked down at my legs; he smirked and even let out a small chuckle. I followed his gaze to see what was humouring him; that would be me in a pair of very short SpongeBob pyjama shorts and spotty socks pulled up to just below my knees. Shit, what the hell did I look like!

“Ah – I wasn’t expecting any company at this time.” I smiled sweetly and blushed.

“At this time? Jeez girl, you’re too young to be in your jammies for 7pm!”

I pulled a face at him, the look of ‘ha ha very funny jack ass’ spread across my face. “Back to the point, I’ve come to take you out. After you get changed of course Squidward!” He burst into laughter as he joked about my pants.

“Just get in and stop laughing!” I spat, even though I couldn’t help but giggle along as I blushed. He followed me in and looked around the room, spotting Deana in the corner by the balcony window; she was smiling so wide that I thought her face might split open. “This is Deana, my good friend and flatmate.”

Sean strolled over to her and took her hand in his, he smiled politely and shook kissed her cheek, “Pleasure to meet you ma’am.” She fell into a nervous laugh, probably because a man 22 years older than her had addressed her as ‘ma’am’.

“And you too Sean. Come, take a seat whilst Winter gets ready, I’ll get you a drink.” I left the pair to acquaint as I literally sprinted to my room. I quickly showered and dressed, panic setting in as I didn’t know whether to dress casually or smartly.

I swore under my breath, “Fuck it.” And I pulled on a pair of bleach wash skinnies and a pastel tie-dye vest top. I finished the outfit off with a pair of nude heels and some casual jewellery. I whipped the elastic from the bun on my head and let my hair fall down just past my shoulder blades in golden waves. Just a little foundation and some red lipstick and I was ready to go. I walked out into the living area to find Sean relaxing on the recliner with a bottle of beer; he was telling Deana a story which she seemed to find hilarious.

He looked up and spotted me, a wicked smile creasing his nose up which looked super cute and sexy all at once. “You look beautiful.” He almost growled, taking my breath away.
