There was once just a simple person. She roamed free in the world of the imprisoned. She was beautiful in the ugly, and happy in the anger people tried to force upon her. She never knew, nor cared about what came next, until one fateful day.
She was walking in town one day, and, as usual, everyone was staring glumly at the pale grey sky. They wished that it would be sunny again. She didn't care at all.
(I don't think that I have told you her name yet, in any case, her name is Katherine. You need to know.)
Her mind is free from the gloomy tiredness of this land. It soared above the clouds into the sun where everything is warm, bright and happy. She saw a man there in the dark shadows. He looked depressed, so being herself, she walked over to him and asked, "Why do you look so depressed." He just looked at her and glared. She wouldn't leave, though, she was too helpful to do anything like that. She wanted to help him, but that was her doom.
You have all seen people in the shadows. I know you have, but you have never known the exact backstory behind it. You have never known what it is that drives them to be there.
The man then drove his hands into his pockets and came out with a rope in each one. He tied her up and dragged her into the shadows, never to be seen again. He was a shadow reaper. He was one of those people who control the shadows and can trap someone in them.
All those people you see in the shadows, those are trapped souls, that will never escape the everlasting torment of darkness.
