As We Go On

        ^*^*^*^* NOTE- I forgot to tell ya'll the setting, this is in present day (sort of). The time in the story begins in fall 2016, and Eva just started 11th grade (the others will be told in the story). I meant to clear that up in the first chapter but Oh Wellllll.... Oops. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

I step out of the shower, still singing quietly along with the songs playing from my phone sitting on the counter. It's just after 10, which isn't really that late, but according to my parents and 10 year old brother, it's much past time to go to bed. But I insisted on a shower, since I had been lying on the grass. So they have all gone to bed, and as I put my pajamas on, I try my best to be quiet. Bump.  Crud. I accidentaly kicked a book against the wall. Thud. Oops. I knocked my hairbrush off the counter. I stumble into my room, trying to avoid further noises. SCRREEECH.  I sigh. I had to bump into the chair.  I sigh again. 

But after I run into the chair, I manage to be decently quiet. My bathroom is in my bedroom, so I don't have to walk down a hallway on my way back. Throwing on the clothes, I realize they are an gym shorts and the football t-shirt from 2 years ago, when we were all in Freshman year. Well, all of us except for Joseph, Charlie, and Kaylie. We all really outdid spirit days that year, and it was so much fun. On homecoming, though, we all wore these shirts (because we had all ended up getting one) and us girls wore our hair the same way, and we all painted the year we would graduate on our fingers. (For me, Braxton, Keelan, Natalie, and Lyssa, that meant 2018 because they are in the same grade as me; for Joseph it meant 2017 because he is a year older than us; and for Charlie and Kaylie, the twins, it meant 2019 since they are are a year younger than me.) So on my left hand, on the pinky I wrote 2, ring finger 0, middle finger 1, and index finger8. We all did that format with our own graduation year, and it made for a really cool group picture. 

In that picture, all 8 of us are standing in a circle with our backs to the middle, with the hands that were written on in a fist in the air- like we were pumping our fists in triumph or something. It was probably the best picture we've ever taken, and the one that required the most effort, since we had another one of our classmates stand on a desk and take the picture. Then after that, Natalie and Lyssa took over and we ended up taking about 20 more pictures. I went along with it, because there really were some good ones. Us jumping off of bleachers, lined up according to grade, according to height (I hated taking that one), and even one of us attempting to spell out friends (even there are 8 of us and only 7 letters). My favorite though, was the one where the four guys stood side by side, and they each had one of us girls on their backs. I remember that picture so clear- it was the home screen on my phone for months, and for almost a year on my chromebook. 

I walk back into my room, brushing through my hair. I stand by the picture board I have had hanging up for almost two years. The picture is hanging there, where it always is, a few inches from the left edge and about a foot down from the top. Right at my eye level.   Wow. Yeah, that pretty much defines our relationships. On the left is Joseph carrying Kaylie, and They are both smiling nice for the camera, They had been dating for a few months then, and it is still going great. That is probably the biggest reason we became a group. We had all been friends, but we started hanging out together a lot more after they started dating. Next in line is Charlie carrying Natalie. They have been almost inseperable for a long time.  Natalie spends so much time at their house, it's like she's their sister. Next from the right is Keelan carrying Lyssa, and they are the two funniest people in my world. Their minds just work along the same lines. They can bounce the craziest stuff back and forth between them so fast that we don't even have time to stop laughing enough to catch my breath in between.  On the right is Braxdon carrying me.          Usually, when we pair off for things like this, that'a how we end up. Not like we ever had a problem with it. Now that Kaylie is dating Joseph, Charlie and Natalie are #bestfriendgoals, and Lyssa and Keelan are like the exact same person, me and Braxdon are left. 

Except for the twins (obviously), our group are all very different in the looks department, the biggest contrast being between Braxdon and Keelan. They've been best friends for years, but they look like the negative image of each other. Keelan, with his golden skin still tan from the summer, his deep amber eyes, and his dark brown hair; is pretty much the opposite of Braxdon and his light skin that only stays a little tan after summer, bright blue eyes, and blond hair.  

^*^*^*^*^ So hey again, and I don't really want to give charachter profiles because i obviously want you to find out in the story (!), but 1.) I know people will ask and 2.) I need to write them down to keep them straight in my head anyway! So... If you want to read this little 'character cheat sheet' go for it. if you don't, Just pretend like I didn't write this next little bit. :)    

EVA

skin- light, but gets sunburn easily- but when she gets burnt, after a few days it turns into tan.

eyes- hazel- they change, but they are mostly dark green.

hair- thick, somewhat curly earthy brown

age/ grade/ graduation year- Since I'm writing this now (as of today... September 2016), I didn't want to set this in the future, so the year is 2016, and Eva is 16.Her birthday is March 10th. This is placed sometime in early september, so in the school year that just started she is a junior, and she will graduate in the 2017- 2018 school year. 

BRAXDON

skin- light tanned

eyes- bright blue

hair- blond

age/ grade/ graduation year- 16, and his birthday is October 25th. He is also a junior, and will graduate in 2018

KEELAN

skin- golden (no not gold. Go look up golden skin tone)

eyes- deep amber

 hair- dark brown

age/ grade/ graduation year- he is 17, and his birthday is (was, since this chapter is set in September) August 14th. He is another junior, and will graduate in 2018

KAYLIE

skin- tan

eyes- blue green

hair- caramel

age/ grade/ graduation year- year below Eva, so she (and her twin Charlie) is 15 and a sophomore. She will graduate in 2019. Their birthday is January 11th.

CHARLIE

skin- very tan

eyes- one is green the other is brown

hair- caramel

age/ grade/ graduation year- same as Kaylie because they are twins- so 2019. 

JOSEPH

skin- kind of pale

eyes- green

hair- black

age/ grade/ graduation year- a year above Eva, so he is 17, and he turns 18 on April 1st. He is in senoir year as of now in the story, and will graduate in 2017.

NATALIE

skin- pale

eyes- light blue

hair- white blond and straight

age/ grade/ graduation year- same as Eva, so she is a junior and will graduate in 2018. She is 16, and her birthday is January 18th.  

LYSSA

skin- light, but still tanned from summer.

eyes- dark green

hair- thick, frizzy, really dark auburn 

age/ grade/ graduation year- She is in the year above Eva, but her birthday is August 1st. So she just turned 17. Even though she is in the same grade as Joseph, a senior, she is only two weeks older than Keelan. so she is a senior and will graduate in 2017. 

There will be more charachters, obviously, but I havent even introduced them yet, so i'll either wait or just not do them. They won't be quite as important to the story so I probably won't do their profiles.
