^^CHLOE BARKER^^

Have you had that moment in life when everything stops. It just simply doesn't care and stops.

It's like your whole world around you shatters, around. It from a circle a circle that has been broken. It was your circle of trust, and the ones you loved the most. Left.

Well I can tell you something, that's exactly what happened to me. Everyday I wake up getting my hopes up too far, just too see him again. But that's when I forget, he can never come back. After all how can you? When your berried six-feet under.

"Amber. Did you hear me?" My Bestfriend Chloe looked at me. "No, sorry." I told her. "It's okay. What's wrong with you lately, you've been... Spacey." Her eyes tell me she's concerned. "Nothing, I'm fine." I give a smile, while I lie through my teeth.

"Are you sure?" She try's to push some information out of me.

"Yeah." I smile. I don't budge.

"Okay good, come on. We have chemistry. And I think we're better at the back. Otherwise you could kill someone with your clumsiness." She laughs. As do I. "I guess."

The bell rings.

Once we arrived at our chemistry class, me and Chloe desperately hurried towards the back. I went into my bag and pulled out two hair ties. I hand one to Chloe and keep the other one for myself.

Chloe goes into her bag and takes out her hair brush. She madly brushes at her dark brown almost black hair, before putting it up. I take her brush afterwards and put up my plain light brown hair. Into a high pony tail.

We then take our seats and everyone starts piling in. Then our teacher arrives, she looks happy until her eyes land near me and Chloe. Her expression turns to sympathetic towards Chloe.

After I couldn't blame her, Chloe is technically playing with a death wish. When she's paired up with me, especially.

Once everyone is settled she starts talking.

"So we will be using potassium-" I don't know why but it's like I've pushed a button and muted her. I can't hear anything she's saying. I'm just some how focused by a space in the corner of the room. Until Chloe taps my shoulder and I re-zoom back to reality.

"So am I clear? Did everyone hear me. How about you Miss Clifford?" She says. "Yes miss." I reply. "Good now, we all may begin." At her words everyone starts.

"So, we start off with potassium." Chloe mutters.

I look down at my book, once again spacing out.

I don't even get what I'm meant to do. I take a test tube, and I empty half a bottle of potassium into it.

"Water!" I hear someone shout.

I snap out my thoughts and walk over towards the sink. I grab a cup and pour some water in it. I walk back over and lay the cup of water on my desk. I grab the test tube and empty it onto my hand. I'm about to place it in as I concentrate.

"NO!" Chloe startles me.

I jump at her action and drop the partials in the water. I look at her wide eyes.

"What's wrong?" I ask. "Don't you realise what happens if you mix, potassium and water together." Her eyes are like golf balls. "No." I say plainly. "What exactly happens?" I question. "When you mix potassium and water together, it makes a reaction. You know like 'boom'-" she stops.

I quickly walk over beside her and turn around. The thing is on fire.

"Uh, oh. EVERYONE DUCK!" Chloe yells and everyone get behind there desks.

"I'm glad miss, took it calmly." I say. "Yeah I know, I've gotta admit. That was pretty cool apart from the explosion being a lot bigger." " How much did you put in it anyway?" She asks me. "I can't remember I think it was about, half a bottle or something." I tell her. "Oh my god! That explains why it was like our desk was on fire." She nervously laughs. "Yeah." I say quietly.

She stops and looks at me. Her eyes look like their studying me, and then crosses her arms. It makes me stop and I raise my eye brow.

"What?" I question. "What's wrong with you? You've been so, so I don't even know the word. Secretive? Or spacey? Lately." She says. I sigh. "I know, it's just because it was two years to my brother today." I look at my feet. "Oh, I'm sorry." She says. "No, it's fine. I just mean, he was my big brother. And it's heart breaking to think, who could hurt such and innocent guy. There was no need but," I stop myself. "It's okay." Chloe says. "I know, but it just hurts still." I tell her. "It will. The pain you feel is still there, but it will soon die off." She tries telling me. "Thanks chlo." I smile. "No problamo." She smiles.

That's when she practically skips half way down the hall. As we exit the school altogether, she has a smirk on her face.

"Guess who's also staying at mines tonight?" She says. "I dunno? Brandon?" I say. "Nope." She pops the 'P'.

Brandon's her boyfriend, but we can get to that later.

"I dunno? Tell me." I say. "You are!" She jumps out. "Oh god, here we go again."
