Chapter 12: "The Sun Also Rises"

CHAPTER TWELVE

The sun starts to rise over Florida. It's the day of the solar eclipse that's about to begin in a couple hours, when the sun and the moon cross paths at a certain angle. Jason, Alex, Kristi, Daniel and Luciana arrive at Kim's house. Finding the house empty, Alex yells,

"I think Iris and Kim are with Jassel at his house! Come on let's go!"

The five get back in the car and drive to Jassel's house. Once again they find no one home and Kristi and Daniel begin to get worried but Kristi tries her best not to show her emotions. Everyone scours the house but find no one. Kristi's state of worrying intensifies her burning pain in her stomach and she lightly grunts in pain. Luciana senses that Kristi is worried and puts her hand on Kristi's shoulder and tells her,

"Hey, Jassel is gonna be fine, okay."

"You don't know that." Kristi responds.

Alex and Jason check outside and find the shutter house door wide open. They hear a noise inside the darkness and suddenly Michael flies out of nowhere and grabs Alex and Jason by the neck with both arms. Michael tells them,

"So you two were the ones that killed me huh? Well luckily for you guys, Jassel has kept his end of the deal so far so it looks like I can't harm you guys. But let me tell you, any little signs of mistrust, and I WILL kill you both right on the spot!"

Michael releases them from his choke hold and Jason and Alex fall back on their feet gasping for air.

"So, what's your plan?" Alex asks Michael with a smirk on his face.

Michael responds,

"The sacrifice is completed in stages as the solar eclipse begins. First, one of the two demons is killed, then the doppelgänger, Jassel, and then the final demon to fulfill the power. Once Jassel dies--"

"Woah woah woah! Jassel dies?!?" Alex yells.

"NO! You didn't let me finish! I have already given him a special elixir that will fool Lucifer when he "kills" Jassel and absorbs his powers, but Jassel is going to stay with his powers when he awakes. But yes, in a way, Jassel will die, but he will come back if the elixir works." Michael tells him.

"IF? what do you mean if?" Alex asks.

"I have already discussed this with Jassel and he was willing to take the risk to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. Unfortunately, it seems that Lucifer has taken his mother and Kim to sacrifice now, so I must hurry." Michael responds.

"Wait! Were all going with you!" Daniel yells.

"No! I can only take two." Michael says.

"I'll go!" Alex yells.

"I'll go!" Jason yells.

"No, I'm going!" Daniel yells.

"NO! Jassel is like a brother to Alex and he is also the person I love! So it's going to be ME and ALEX!" Kristi yells.

"No please Kristi, I need to go, come on, it's my sister!" Daniel tells her.

"Listen to me Daniel, you need to stay here and be safe! You will be here with Jason and Luciana and you guys can drive along behind us from a distance. I promise you we WILL save them!" Kristi tells him.

"Okay that's enough! Now Alex, Kristi! Let's go!" Michael yells.

Michael spreads his massive dark wings and carries Alex one one arm and Kristi on the other. The three fly up and shoot out into the sky northward towards St. Augustine, as Jason, Luciana, and Daniel drive off far behind Michael in the distance as their car's speed is no match for the powerful arch angel.
