Even after Fred's death Molly continued to make the sweaters with an F on it. When Georges son Freddie was old enough, George gave Freddie all of Fred's sweaters. It killed George to do so but afterwards, whenever he saw his son wearing his brothers sweater he was able to smile like his brother was still alive.
