Prologue
My name is Seth Richards. As of now I have been long gone. I have been roaming this land of the dead for what seems like an eternity. And for as long as I can remember I've been repeating this story to myself over and over again. It always starts off the same. With the day that changed my life forever. I’m not sure how you found me here. Are you stuck here as well? Eh… that’s not important. What important is you hear my story.
It was around the end of the winter season. The leaves had just started to regain their color and glow ever so brightly in the sun. I sat in my car contemplating on how I should ask out the girl of my dreams. Now, I have had girlfriends before, it's just that I've always had a friend, a wing man, to back me up. But I wanted to do it different this time. I looked down at my phone. 9:37 Am. Around the time Andi and I were going to go see a movie. Also the day when I'd ask her out. I laid my head on the leathery steering wheel. What if she says no? What if I make a complete fool of myself? No, no. I can't afford to think like that. If I did then I'd slip up and ruin everything. Now look at me... I'm over thinking the situation! Jesus, I need some help with this. I looked down at my phone once again and it started ringing. I answered the call. "Hello?"
"Yo dude! Did you ask out Andi yet?"
"No not yet. I'll do it, Aaron. You'll see." Aaron was one of those types of guy who could pull any girl he wanted but at the same time be the nicest guy in the world. He could turn any situation into his favor in the blink of an eye. His only problem is that he was kind of a douche bag to me when it comes to me asking a girl out. But the way I see it, it's just him showing that he cares.
"Seth," said Aaron, "you've told me this a million times and you've failed to do so each time. When's it going to happen?"
"Today!" I countered. "I have a better feeling about today.”
"Like what? The feeling that a girl is actually going to say yes without my help?"
"No." I thought about the answer. "I just have a feeling something big is going to happen today." All of a sudden I heard knocking on my car window. I looked up from the steering wheel and saw Andi pointing down, motioning me to roll down the window. I gave a half smile and waved. "Hey Aaron, I've got to go."
"Good luck bro!" He gave a snorted chuckle. "You'll need it."
"Whatever. Bye."
"Use protection you player!" he said jokingly.
I got out of the car and the day took its course. This was the day that started the beginning of the end of my life; the day I met the Key Runners.
Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the End
Draxx walked down the corridor to his master’s room. He took quick steps making sure to get there fast enough. If he wasn't on time to obtain his orders the master would be angered. He quickened his pace. A tall, sleek figure stepped in front of Draxx's path. He had long, black hair that matted to his head and reached to his shoulders. A blue ball sparked electricity in the tips of his fingers.
"Calamity, so good to see you," Draxx said, "How goes the search for your behemoth?"
"It went really good! We have finally captured it and put it in the stasis portal. It won't be going anywhere anytime soon." Calamity gave a confident smirk.
"Excellent work," approved Draxx, "I am sorry Calamity but I must be off. I have new orders from the master; he thinks he's found the second key."
"The second key? Already? We only just found the Key we have now not 3 months ago!" Surprised he turned on his heel and walked back into his room. "Good luck on your mission Draxx."
