As I go and sit in my place, Neetu comes and sits beside me.
"Hey, haven't you slept all night? You look like a zombie. "she asks.
"No, I was crying all night."
"This time, dad or mom? All this is very common in ur house right- ur parents doubting u and u crying. Now just chill."
"I sometimes wonder why they can't be broadminded like everyone."
"I don't think they'll ever change. You love a guy and elope with him. Then I think they'll understand u better."
I smile at the idea she gets. She understands me very well. Then we hear the college bell. She hugs me and sits in her place. After a few minutes, a boy sits next to me. I move closer to the edge so that there is enough space between us. I still didn't look at him.
The professor enters and starts the class. He teaches physics. I've also heard that he is the vice principal of the college. He spares the last 10 minutes of the class for introduction. He starts it from the last bench.
Now it is my turn.
"So, what is ur name, miss?"
"My name is Aadhya Sharma."
"What is ur name, mister?"he asks the boy beside me. I try not to look at him.
"Sir, my name is Avaneesh."
"Oh! So, u both are the toppers of the state. I've seen ur names in the news. You both have to maintain the same spirit and achieve good marks in your academics. Congratulations for both of u."
"Thank you, sir." unknowingly we both say together.
The bell rang and the next class has started. The class is so boring. I start playing with my pen. Unfortunately, it slips and falls near the boy sitting beside me. He bends down and gives me the pen without looking at me. I hope he also doesn't want to either see or talk to me. That is very nice of him.
I notice a tattoo on his wrist when he gives me the pen. It is the same tattoo I saw in my dream and the guy who saved me near the seniors. Oh my gosh! I didn't notice it was him. I can't imagine anything right now. Surely there is some connection between us.
I quickly tear a piece of paper from my book .
'Hii. Thank you for that day. It was so nice of u to help me☺.'
I fold it slowly put it on his book. He hasn't still noticed that I kept it. So I tap with my pen on the bench and point it towards his book. I think he understands coz he unfolds the paper and reads it. He quickly scribbles something ,folds the paper and passes to me.
'It doesn't matter. It wasn't a hard task either.'
His handwriting is so neat. This time I tear a long paper.
'I'm sorry I wasn't able to thank you that day. I didn't even see u. I also didn't knew it was u sitting beside me. Did u see me the other day?'
'Yes, I saw u.'
'Then why didn't u introduce yourself to me yesterday?'
'You didn't even look at me. So I thought u didn't want to talk to me. So I didn't dare to.'
'Actually, I'm not interested in talking with boys. But I wanted to thank you for taking my back that day.'
'So, u didn't ever talk with any boy?'
'Never. You are the first boy I'm talking to.'
'I'm so surprised to see a girl like u in this generation.'
