The Love Affair

Chap. 2

Engagement party

Lights were shining through the tree branches, soft jazz music was playing in the air, and I slowly entered the dance floor, on the opposite end Ethan slowly started walking towards me. Locking our eye's he held out his hand waiting for me to take it, I placed my hand onto his, dropping the tail of my evening gown I looked up and saw a smile crept onto his face, he slowly pulled me in, our bodies syncing to one.

We swayed to the rhythm of the music he slowly tried to dip me and I couldn't help but laugh. Again we locked eyes and in the pit of my stomach I knew I was in love. In love with a man that promised me the world. I knew I couldn't be happier.

Everyone around us could feel the love radiating off of me, and I dare anyone to step onto the dance floor. It was ours and no one could take it away.

"You look absolutely beautiful tonight." Ethan smiled as we continued to dance. Pulling me in closer and tightening his hold.

"I can't look at anyone else, but you. You're breath taking Kathy."

I smiled and slowly leaned in and pressed my lips upon his.

"And I can't take my eyes off of you. I could dance with you forever, Ethan Grayson." As the music was coming to an end Ethan spun me around and stopped me the moment our faces met. Like a pro he knew exactly how to sweep me off my feet.

With great excitement I leaned in and passionately kissed him. Our lips moved as one. The music stopped and everyone applauded. Ethan lightly pulled away with a grin to his face, I blushed ear to ear resting my head on his shoulders.

"I forgot we had an audience. All I could see was you" I sweetly replied.

Both Ethan and I turned around facing our guest. Yelling and applauding was all you could hear. We laughed and turned back at each other; smiling Ethan pulled me in and kissed me once again.

Excitement rang from the crowd, but once Ethan and I pulled away, the excitement wasn't towards us anymore. I noticed movement coming from the middle of the crowd whispers and gasps were being exchanged from everyone. A small silhouette was breaking the sea of people a part. There appeared a woman in skin tight red dress, hugging the curves of her elegant body. Her long dark hair was curled and laying past her shoulders. And without any hesitation she entered my dance floor, stealing all the attention away from us.

"Hello Ethan" seductively smiled Emily. "It's been a long time." Her eyes were locking into his. I could feel the pull she had on him and it sickened me. I quickly moved in front of him.

"Emily, your back, so nice of you to attend our engagement party" I expressed, making it known that this was MY engagement. She had to come unannounced and now try and to steal my fiancé.

"Of course, I wouldn't dare miss the engagement of the one and only Ms. Katherine Price." Emily said mockingly, "It would be considered rude, if I did. I wouldn't want to be trash now would I?" Emily smiled. I so desperately wanted to slap that smirk right off her face.

Smiling I broke away from Ethan's arms and slowly glided towards my ever so loving bitch of a cousin, smiling I whispered in her ear, "I wouldn't start that Emily, you know simply well what I meant, and like what I said before, you will always be, and forever be, trash, to me. So kindly watch what you say and do. It would be ashamed if anything would happen to you tonight." I playfully hugged her and lightly kissed her cheek. Backing away with the biggest fake smile on my face, I announced, "I just can't believe that your back Emily! I've missed you very much." Laughing I walked back to Ethan, "It means the world to us, that you came." I light grabbed Ethan's arm and wrapped it around my waist. "Did you, bring anyone with you? You always have just the luck, in finding interesting people. And knowing you, you never come alone." I asked smiling. If you haven't guess my cousin was a whore. Well in my eyes she was.
