"Teegan! Let me do your nails!" Amanda shouts and grabs her bag of nail polish. As they sit down, Amanda's friends introduce themselves. "I'm Aaron." the red-head says. "And I'm Stacy!" the blonde one yells, obviously very happy. "So, what's your name?" Aaron asks. "I'm Sheena, and that's Teegan," I point over to the bed where Amanda was painting Teegan's nails. "Sheena, I've heard that name before," Stacy starts. "The Ramones! Sheena is a punk rocker!" she yells. I laugh I take a swig of my Pepsi.
"So who was that boy with you?" Aaron quietly asks with a smirk. "That's Maddox, he's my boy best friend." I reply. "So, is he single?" she says while grinning. "Wow, we've only been here for a couple hours and Maddox is already gonna get a girlfriend!" I laugh. "So he is single!" Aaron says while getting some more chips.
We all hear a loud boom coming from downstairs followed by an "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" We all rush down the stairs, but we find nothing in the living room. Then we hear a bunch of laughter coming from Amanda's brother's room.
Amanda swings the door open and we all see Maddox on the ground and a couple of other boys dying with laughter. "What happened?" Teegan yells and rushes to help Maddox. "Don't mess up your nails!" Amanda says running after her. Aaron, very concerned, runs to Maddox and helps him up.
After everyone calms down, Teegan once again asks what happened. Amanda's brother stands up and says, "I, Parker Matthews, did absolutely nothing wrong." he smiles and Amanda smacks him. Maddox finally starts to explain what happened. "So, I was standing on a chair which happened to be a chair under the vent to Amanda's room," Amanda furrows her eyebrows but let's him continue. "Then I heard my name, so I kept listening. After I heard Aaron ask if I was single, Parker pulled me off the chair and I fell on the ground." Stacy looks confused and says, "Why were you standing on a chair in the first place?" We all give her the 'are you really that stupid?' look. "Obviously because he wanted to listen to our conversation," I say to her. She still looks like she doesn't understand any of this.
"Anyways," Amanda says. "Let's go back upstairs." As we all walk out of the room, Aaron winks at Maddox, thinking no one was watching. Maddox blushes and smiles.
When we all settle back into Amanda's room, Stacy turns on the radio and sits on a beanbag chair. "So, in the future, do you guys still have radios or some cool future stuff?" Aaron asks. "Well, we have radios, but there's this thing called an AUX cord. You can plug it in to your phone and play music from there." I explain. "That sounds so cool! Did you bring a cellphone with you?" Amanda says. I look in my bag for my phone but I don't see it anywhere. "The time machine must've shook my bag so hard it fell out!" I panick. "Don't worry, the machine thingy probably took it back to your house!" Stacy says, trying to calm me down. "Okay, okay. Let's just hope my mom doesn't kill me for losing it." I say while closing my eyes. "Phones must be expensive then, huh?" Aaron says. "Yeah, really expensive." Teegan says with wide eyes.
"Well ladies, I think we should get some sleep. Big day tomorrow!" Amanda suggests. We all agree and we all grab some pillows and blankets. It seems that Parker, Maddox, and those other boys have fallen asleep, making it easier for us to whisper funny things to each other. At about 1:00am, I was the only one awake.
This is too good to be true.
