Chapter 8: Sister's Love

~Flashback~

Delirious's POV

             I walked the dark red bloody road. My king awaited me on his pedestal, tapping his finger. I walked up to his thrown and bowed before him. "Sorry i'm late, Dark Nanners. What do you ask of me to do for you?" He looked down at me and glared. His hell hounds beside him were growling at the angel slaves in the cage set as the decor.

"Jonathan, I only ask one more favor...Can you complete this task? You are my most trusted warrior."

           "Yes, sir?" I looked up and saw him get up from his thrown and walk towards me. His red eyes show his true colors of hate and betrayal. He is a kind of demon that wants to stay in the dark and pulls innocent souls to stay with him in the dark...I was an innocent soul, once. He pulled me in the dark with him. I was with my sister at the time when it started, when he started getting attached to me and pulling me in his home, piece by piece.

          I was very young at the time, me and my sister were playing a game of hide and go tag. When you find someone, you have to tag them. It started there.

~Flashback of a Flashback (This is weird)~

       "You can't catch me, Rayan!" I laughed and ran past a tree. She was far behind, but she was gaining, fast. There were red leaves everywhere, making it impossible for me to escape. I ran for a huge tree that was like huge! The branches were like 15 stories high! with red leaves, slowly falling to the floor.

           I grabbed the tree and pulled myself up, piece by piece. She looked up at me and started to climb as well. I reached a stopping point and sat on the tree looking at Rayan, struggling to climb the tree. I laughed and she looked at me, glaring. She grabbed a ledge and gripped it. She looked at me again and this time, with an evil grin. 

           She gripped the ledge harder and jumped up. I gasped and got up, climbed farther up the tree, escaping her grasp. I went farther until I was met with one big branch. I looked down and saw Rayan getting closer by the second.

           "I'm gonna get you, little man!" I took my chance and walked across the branch. The branch was getting smaller and smaller. Rayan reached for me but fell, quickly grabbing the wide branch, dangling. "RAYAN!!" I looked down at her and took a step towards her, making this weird creaking sound. "Jonathan!! Don't move!!" my whole body was trembling. My eyes widened as I saw Rayan's grip on the branch slowly fade. "Jonathan, jump to the thicker part of the branch!! Hurry!!" I wasted no time and tried to jump to the other side. But something held me back, it grabbed my hoodie, making me stomp right back to where I was, the branch I was on broke, sending me with it. 

          But Rayan quickly grabbed my sleeve and breathed heavy. She only had one hand on the branch."JONATHAN!! I promised mom and dad I was gonna protect you! Now Climb up, hurry!!" I looked at her straight in the eyes, making my eyes water. I grabbed her arm and lifted myself up to her. She lifted me with her spare hand and I grabbed the branch. I was really skinny so it was easy for me to climb up.

          I made it up and looked down at Rayan. She was crying, her grip was loosening. "Rayan! Please! Grab my hand!" I reached out my hand but she didn't grab it, she looked at me and smiled. "Jonathan, if I do that than we will both go down...Please, just go get mom and dad..But if this is my last conversation with you then, I love you baby bro. My love will always be with you, Don't miss me that much because I will always be right here, watching over you. Love you, now go get mom and dad! Hurry! My hands hurt!" My eyes were watering, I reacted quickly and ran down the branch to the ground.

         I reached the ground, running towards our house. Before I could take 10 steps, I heard a huge thud behind me. My eyes were shaking as I slowly turned around looking at...R-Rayan, in a pile of leaves. Instead of that nice autumn color on the leaves, they were dark red. My whole body was traumatized. My eyes went into a blur as my eyes started to make an ocean. I fell to the ground. 

        Sadness, depression, anger washed over me. I crawled over to Rayan and put my head on her stomach, looking up at my sister. I looked at her pale face on the leaves. I looked up at the branch and saw a reddish blackish figure standing upon it. It walked over to the ledge and grinned. It turned around, leaving my site. I looked back down at my sister, rivers of tears poured down my face. 

         Next thing I knew, I blacked out. All the things that make me happy and keep me on track, the things that keep me on my feet and keeps me out of trouble. The things that protect you from falling off a branch to you death. That thing was Rayan, the only person that protected me...Was gone, forever from this world. But I know her love will stick with me. I have to stay strong and do what Rayan wanted me to do, live a long happy life. Whenever i'm in a tough spot in life, I know that she will always be right there. Always...
