Ruby went to the kitchen to get herself some breakfast. "Finally got her to talk, eh?" She jumped at the voice of Taiyang, her father. "How come you two have a bound more strong than I do with her?" Ruby giggled in response.
After she finished her breakfast, she took Taiyang to see his daughter. "Yang, how are you doing?" Taiyang was almost fearful. "Better." There was something different when Ruby left her before. The apple left the table, and had a giant bite mark in Yang's hand.
"Here's something to make you both happy!" Taiyang said with a smile. "There's been a big decrease of White Fang activity lately! It looks like someone is fighting off the remote camps! Some police found one camp and saw White Fang members lying on the ground. Some shot, some stabbed, but only White Fang corpses. It had to have been an army of assassins to take them all out!"
Ruby was curious. "And what about...Cinder?" Taiyang had heard the name from Qrow and what she did to Pyrrha, but he didn't know anything else about her. "I'm sorry Ruby." He replied. "But Cinder is still out there, no one knows where she is. All I know is that Qrow said something about Haven and how the enemies trail lead to there. But I'm sure the assassins will take care of it!" Ruby was not in the mood for jokes. Cinder was still out there, plotting for something. She knew what she had to do.
She spent a lot of time thinking of who to call. Weiss's father wouldn't let Weiss go, Blake didn't respond to her calls, the teachers were defending the innocent of Vale, she didn't even no if team CFVY was even alive, and Ja-
"Of course! I'll call Jaune, Ren and Nora!" She was so excited to call her old and first friend at Beacon. She dialed the scroll and prayed he would pick up. And he did.
"Ruby! How are you? I haven't talked to you in awhile. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I wanna ask you something, get Nora and Ren on the line."
Ruby had on her red hood, her combat skirt, and cresent rose in her hand. She left a note saying goodbye to Taiyang, and now she just had to say goodbye to Yang. Yang knew where her sister wanted to go. "Are you sure you don't wanna come with, Yang?" Ruby was hoping she could come with. "Ruby, I have one arm. What good would I be on the field? I'd just hold you back." Ruby was disappointed, but Yang wasn't entirely wrong. "I love you." Yang smiled up and said "I love you too, Ruby."
Ruby just closed the door to her house. Jaune, Ren and Nora were standing right outside. Jaune said "Hey" and Ruby said "Hey" back. "Haven's along way to go." Jaune replied "I know. But it's the only lead we have." Ruby was concerned. "And you're sure you want to come along?" Ren butted in. "The journey will be perilous. And whether we'll find answers at the end is entirely uncertain." "But we wouldn't be here if we weren't up for it." Ruby always admired the perky and ready attitude of Nora. It reminded her of Yang in a way. They were ready. Ruby now had what she needed to find Cinder and make her pay. Ruby smiled. "Then let's get started!"
